On Honeymoon, at the very end of April, start of May.
We have never been before; what funky stuff should we do? We have 4 days, and are staying near the Flatiron building.

Never made it out there: Too far..
To say the least about Rockaway beach, which looked like London to Brighton...

Honeymoon stuff:
South Street Seaport, and Century 21 for der kleid.
Ice skating in front of the rockerfeller centre.
We did the ABC studios tour, if you enjoy that sort of thing.
Apply early enough and you could get onto TV show audience of some sort...

There are a few 'museum' passes, some that you only get value from if you do 3 museums a day for 7 days (you don't want that, right?)
Some less 'intense' ones let you jump 'a bit' of the queue for EmpStatBuild, etc, but hey: Chill out and let everyone else run like nutters.

I was gonna say if you get on the Shake Shack line it could kill all 4 days.
See if there's any good theatre/music at BAM or elsewhere in Brooklyn. Get out of midtown Manhattan whenever you can.

Eat about 4 meals a day so you can fit in as much as possible. My NYC restaurant info is a bit out of date but I can highly recommend
Sakagura, a japanese place in the basement of a car park by the UN, recommended to me by Steve Shasta that does great Izakaya (japanese pub) style food and has a huge selection of sake.
Blue Ribbon Bakery, Downing Street in the West Village, great for brunch but get there early because lines tend to form.
And now my mind has gone blank on a Williamsburg italian that Tracer Hand and his missus highly recommend.
PS1 is my favourite art museum, I really like Flushing Meadows, the remains of the Worlds Fair are good to look at and I believe the Queens art museum is there. COuld be combined with Chinese food in Flushing, Indian in Jackson Heights or one of the best Peruvian Chicken places in town, Pio Pio, also in jackson Heights.
I presume this is going to be over a weekend in which case prepare for the subway to be fucked and your options limited by line closures, delays and diversions.
Might be nice enough wether to hire a bike, a lot of the riverfront in Manhattan is bikeable.
In general, though, walk about lots, don't plan too much and have fun.

Billy's Bakery on 9th in Chelsea has amazing cupcakes. When my wife and I were there this summer we gorged ourselves, then when I was there in November for work one of my meetings brought them with her. Score!
Also, this place: http://www.ilovepeanutbutter.com/

there is a thread about restaurants in nyc, you should read the whole thing, and then we will quiz you, and then we will give u access to the secret good restaurants

I don't want to hijack Nick's thread, but I am coming to NYC next weekend (Feb 19-21) for the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament and may have some free time in the late afternoon/early evening on both Friday and Saturday. If anyone wants to meet up, let me know. I'll be in Brooklyn, staying at the Marriott (where the tournament is held).
