i enjoy Wylie's conceptual cooking but dude is not bred for competition, last season he ran around aimlessly half the time looking supremely confused.

No NoCal chefs is kind of a surprise.

Rick Moonen was my favorite contestant outside of Bayless last season so I'm glad he's getting another go. I really don't know who most of the rest are, but all I know about chefs is who I've seen on TC previously...
Still, 2nd on the Bay Area/NorCal shutout.

Kinda weird that chefs from last season are competing again.

I guess the upside to Bayless winning is that he won't be back.

Maybe not, considering this talent appears to be a step down from last year (in fact, Michael Voltaggio was probably more decorated than 80% of these chefs going into last non-Master's season) and producers were probably anxious to get some recognizable talent on board.

Yeah, and I guess there's only six of them: Bowles, Dufresne, Lefebvre, Moonen, Peel, and Waxman.

No need for xpost notice... Bayless will be back for sure.

I haven't seen the most recent one yet, but so far it's made for less than compelling viewing.

Yall are probably right but I'm addicted to Top Chef so I'll keep on watching this anyways

I definitely prefer the normal Top Chef but they need some better contestants next season

(to clarify - they need sharper contestants on the regular show)

susur seems like an awesome dude but his plating needs work.

I thought the returning chef one was hysterical (esp. the general real or exaggerated disdain for Ludo). Otherwise it's been dull watching.

And CONGRATULATIONS to Marcus Samuelsson!
(I was cheering him on the most this season because I liked seeing world cuisine, hearing about the strong flavors, and generally favorable reviews that he received)

It makes me happy that Mexican food won last season and a guy that did a lot of African food, curries and such wins this season
