a little sweater, it's irredescent.. no, sorry. i am wondering how style conscious ILE/M is. beingt pop it should be very so, but being highbrow it should be quite dowdy too. today i am wearing a remarkably skinny-cut blue striped blazer, white trousers, white sligtly flowery shirt and white tie. and yesterday white dinner jacket, white shirt, black trousers. i like to be smart.

matthew james, Saturday, 4 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

tight blax tuxedo trousers with sexy satin insets and a black t shirt with a silver glitter drag racing thing .

anthony, Saturday, 4 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Black strappy sandals, black pencil skirt, black...um, I have no idea how to describe the shirt. it has a v-neck and a collar and 3-quarter sleeves. Plus my silver hoop earings, silver rings, and my crucifix.

Ally, Saturday, 4 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Brown vans, white socks, grey dickies, a white t-shirt. Yuck, I'm looking totally Warped Tour today, kill me please, thanks.

Arthur, Sunday, 5 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Underwear. But about to put on a tight red long sleeved t-shirt (Miss Sixty), dark Pepe jeans and brown Lacoste sneakers. Also some jewellery: big yellow 18 kt gold hoop earrings, diamond cluster yellow gold ring, Figaro type yellow gold chain and another diamond ring in yellow and white gold (1940s style).

nathalie (nathalie), Sunday, 5 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm not wearing anything underneath my clothes (!)

turner, Sunday, 5 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

duane, Sunday, 5 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I wear all black tin foil super garb

Mike, Sunday, 5 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

my long blue pj bottoms, a grey and white sweatshirt with a v-neck collar in black, and my prince albert.

Geoff, Sunday, 5 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yesterday I went to a Depeche Mode concert dressed in a black leather motorcycle jacket, black courderoy pants, longsleeve black shirt, clear plastic belt, hair pomaded like nobody's business. Today? Black jeans, green longsleeve shirt.

Sterling Clover, Sunday, 5 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

A cardigan full of holes and my pajamas, sort of bedsit chic, 'cept I don't live in a bedsit.

jel, Sunday, 5 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i am wearing a cock ring and a leash

anthony, Sunday, 5 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm wearing one of my parishioners.

The Dirty Vicar, Sunday, 5 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am wearing Chanel Nr Five

Coco (nathalie), Sunday, 5 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Today is my day off from being well dressed, so I'm just wearing an old skinny fit Kenickie t-shirt and some black cords.

Yesterday I looked cool though, wearing a white shirt, red tie, grey jacket which is slightly to small, black pinstriped trousers plus I stole my brother's Mike Reid style sunglasses and his watch. Any resemblance to Lawrence from Denim was entirely accidental.

I was also wearing lots of rainwater and some tree (damn Regent's Park, messing up my shirt)

jamesmichaelward, Sunday, 5 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I fail to see the connection between being pop loving and style conscious. I have no style of any kind, I dress awfully, especially in New f****** Jersey humidity because the only clothes that don't make me feel stifled are t-shirts and shorts. Goddamn university won't let us have air conditioners...

Dave M., Sunday, 5 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

We've already done this question. Unfortunately I have no idea how to do a link to it. Inferior Dastoor out.

Ally C, Sunday, 5 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

What, are you still wearing the same clothes or something?

Josh, Sunday, 5 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i am wearing my work clothes. black opaque tights, black and white check skirt, dark purple top with skivvy underneath.

lady die, Monday, 6 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Black dress shoes, black Perry Ellis dress pants, belt 10 sizes too big, pocketwatch on chain, blue vintage Arrow long-sleeve button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up and the top two buttons undone because it's really fucking hot. Girl at video store said, "what are you, a gangster?"

Otis Wheeler, Monday, 6 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

a skirt and a large white button up.

anthony, Monday, 6 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

The same black shirt I had on the other day, it's fucking foxy. A black knee-length skirt with white polka dots on it. Strappy black sandals. Silver celtic band on right hand, silver some other sort of band on left hand. Silver hoop earrings. Silver and garnet crucifix. I'm actually dressed exactly how I was the other night, just with a different skirt. How frightening.

Ally, Monday, 6 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Got chewed out by a clerk at a Structure in a mall this past Friday for the shirt I was wearing, which happened to be a Structure shirt, as two of my friends with their ridiculous American Eagle t-shirts stood by, unabused. There's a story there, but it's rather involved, how I tell it.

Anybody wanna take me shopping?

Cryosmurf, Monday, 6 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am wearing a pink shirt and plain black trousers.

anthony, Tuesday, 7 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Lila coloured jeans (Replay). White cardigan with multi coloured beads at the edges. Sparkly Replay T-shirt. Light blue sneakers (Diesel). Gold charm bracelet. Gold watch. Cartier tricoloured ring and a gold band ring with a peridot. Hair up in a pony tail (held together with pink band).

nathalie (nathalie), Tuesday, 7 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ancient cream colored bugle boy jeans. Teal t-shirt. Battered leather "bomber" style jacket.

Sterling Clover, Tuesday, 7 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Black v-neck sweater. Black pencil skirt. Black strappy heel sandals. Same jewelery as yesterday. I swear to god I change my clothing. I feel like the angel of death, never mind Dan.

Ally, Tuesday, 7 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Today I am wearing a suit to work for the first time in six months. It is a sleek, black, summerweight wool suit from Jigsaw. I had a big horrible meeting and nobody messed with me so it had the desired effect.

Madchen, Tuesday, 7 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Blue jeans, boot cut. Blue and tan plaid dress shirt.

Sterling Clover, Tuesday, 7 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

same as yesterday. but of course fresh underwear. lila&green sox. looks better than it sounds.

nathalie (nathalie), Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Right, sit down, I'm going to shock you all. Black strappy sandals, black pencil skirt, black square-neck short-sleeved sweater, crucifix, two silver rings, hoop earrings. IN NO WAY DO ALL MY CLOTHES LOOK ALIKE, NOT AT ALL.

Ally, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Black jeans. grey service-ish shirt, with silver lapel pin. Green undershirt.

Sterling Clover, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

black sneakers, green pants, black shirt, diamond necklace.

rainy, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Red, fuzzy bathrobe. Elizabeth Arden eyeglasses. That's it.

Kim, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I love this thread, it's so comedy for me, because: black strappy sandals. Black skirt (not a pencil, actually vaguely a-line today). Black 3/4 sleeve sweater. Same jewelery as always.

BASTARD. I do not wear the same clothes daily. I am not a goth. Argh.

Ally, Thursday, 9 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

A black pair of pants. A wool felt blue apron with pockets. A bright blue shirt. Orange plastic clogs. A silver bracelet with two periodit(sp) stones set to the left and right of the hinges . An opal ring and a jet and lapis neclace. I do not know why but Adam bought me the necklave and vraclet today.

anthony, Friday, 10 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Adam or David? ;)

Josh, Friday, 10 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

David of course.

anthony, Friday, 10 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

In some cultures opal is considered bad luck. I can't remember who it was, but someone wrote a story wherein the main character experienced bad (or she died?). So that sort of influenced people: From being a good luck gemstone, they started believing it was bad for'em. I think opal is one of the prettiest stones on the market.

Diamonds are of course pretty. I like princess cut diamonds (square) or big ass round ones.

I am wearing pyjamas. Might put on a multi-coloured sweater (slanted lines in different colours), dark jeans (naturally dark coloured), paraboot-shoes, brown socks. Big chunky gold earrings, peridot gold band, crab-link gold bracelet,...

nathalie (nathalie), Friday, 10 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Do not like Diamonds. Prefer semi precious stones. ( Jet, Lapis, Garnet,) Opals were supposed to steal souls in Aborgine legend. I like them because tehy seem mecuiral.

anthony, Friday, 10 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I always cringe when people say *semi* precious. As though emeralds, sapphires, diaminds and rubies are better (more precious than for example topaz. I love jewellery. Even though being over-exposed to them on a daily basis, I love it even more than before I got in the jewellery bizniz.

nathalie (nathalie), Friday, 10 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I agree . Anyways those stones are so vesatile as well. They interact and move . The colors are more interesting. Look at how citrine works with gold. Its much more posh and elegant then diamonds and gold. Which i still think is banal.

anthony, Friday, 10 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I have on a t-shirt that is black and says in gold letters RUB MY TUMMY FOR GOOD LUCK. You all beat that, boo-yah.

Ally, Friday, 10 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

three months pass...
i am wearing cowboy flannel pajamas andmy new glasses and a bracelet w. a garnet i have yet to take off.

anthony, Tuesday, 13 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Just red plaid boxers. (I'm about to go to bed)

Brian MacDonald, Tuesday, 13 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Black t shirt with 'The Pony Film Co' logo on the front. Dark blue jeans turned up at the bottom and with the fly completely unbuttoned even though I am in a public place. Red and white striped socks like a witch, no shoes on.

rainy, Tuesday, 13 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Levis, my favorite painting/pajama shirt, brown argyle socks without shoes.

turner, Tuesday, 13 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

my new (old) turquoise woollen suit of skirt with matching jacket (i swear, what a find, $8 second-hand and its like they tailored it just to fit my body), with a pair of black knee-high lace-up boots.

di, Tuesday, 13 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Hi folks, since it's about 5:15 AM here, I'm still in my PJ's which are soft satin and I am barefoot but NOT pregnant as we speak! Shame shame shame! Gale

Gale Deslongchamps, Wednesday, 14 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

My black jacket, a black smock-ish top, boring black work trousers, black boxers, black socks, the usual shoes.

Tom, Wednesday, 14 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Black straight-leg trousers, black lambswool cardigan, pink vest top, skin colour pop socks (!!!!!), matching turqoise undies, same jewellery as always. Earlier on I was wearing contact lenses for the second time in my life and I learned how to put them in and take them out too! But now my eyes are sore. But next time I walk into the pub I will recognise my friends, so I am prepared to suffer.

Madchen, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I forgot my shoes - black mary janes.

Madchen, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am obviously not wearing enough as I am still freezing cold. My boss told me to wear a woolly jumper, he is sounding just like my dad. 'Oh dad please turn the heating on' 'no put on another jumper'.

Emma, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

'Oh dad please turn the heating on' 'no put on another jumper'.

That sounds very familiar...

Madchen, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i'm still saying that madchen is stylee.

today i am wearing a peach coloured long-sleeved calf-length dress with gold lurex, white opaque tights and flat black shoes. and of course my jackie-o-style black sunglasses.

di, Monday, 19 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am wearing jeans and a tight, yellow, long sleeved t-shirt that says 'TROJAN SOCCER'. I hate my outfit.

rainy, Tuesday, 20 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Today the office heating is working so I'm not cold. I'm wearing a purple shirt, pale grey sleeveless shift dress and black boots.

Emma, Tuesday, 20 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ugly brown workpants which feel a bit underdressed for this office. Ugly blue plaid shirt. I am ugly today.

Sterling Clover, Tuesday, 20 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm the chromatic equivalent of a midmorning landscape. Cheap Dickies knockoffs in electric blue, bright green hoodie w/longjohn lining. My brown shoes. At least I don't have on a yellow hat!

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 20 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Launderette day tomorrow thus am actually wearing horrible binary T- Shirt my brother bought me for christmas. Horrible yucky dark brown with YOU ARE DUMB written in ASCII/binary accross the front. Yuck. (Hence hilarious techie joke. L4M3r: "Hey, what does that say?" Me: "YOU ARE etc etc")

Today's trousers are not held together with Duck tape, but do have mysterious cigarette burn size holes in them at random points, and appear to have bleached peach speckles on the back. Any ideas?

Graham, Tuesday, 20 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i am wearing a very swank button up maroon shirt rendered as tawdry as anything else i own due to age and wear. underneath that is a birdhouse t-shirt (with the logo poking out, how gauche.) the same unwashed jeans i've been wearing for a week now and my boots. i dont think anything i'm wearing is clean. what a fucking slob.

jess, Tuesday, 20 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Dark blue jeans, red t-shirt, undescribable shirt, blue fleecey thing. jel = not well.

james, Tuesday, 20 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am wearing blue cords, a pale green shirt that happens to match my eyes, and my absurdly gorgeous new black boots. I look quite nice.

dan, Tuesday, 20 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ratty red Eddie Bauer pullover (three stripes running horizontally across the middle, two thick grey stripes sandwiching one thin white stripe) and cruddy beige pants made of canvas. The pants are comfy, but ratty, and a bit see through. Ugly for some, but when you're spending the day draining your nose of nasty snots, it's the perfect ensemble. (Stubble is optional.)

David Raposa, Tuesday, 20 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I am wearing all black today, cos I woke up too damn late to think about fashion and pairing. Also, because all my clothing is black.

Ally, Tuesday, 20 November 2001 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

today i am wearing a black skivvy and a pair of powder-blue pinstripe pants.

In about a half an hour I will be wearing a black wrap dress with 1940s shoes and my hair done up, replete with my crystal crucifix and Givenchy earrings. I have to go to the damned real estate board dinner again.

Ally, Thursday, 17 January 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm wearing sunglasses that make me look spineless, emphatic and imperious. You must see me in the flesh to appreciate my inner beauty.

two years pass...
Let me count the layers:

Two pair of socks under my boots. Brown courdoroy pants with silk long underwear. A ribbed cotton shirt, a long-sleeve yellow button-down, a long-sleeve orange shirt of medium thickness, a wool sweater, an insulated hoodie, a large overcoat, a scarf, a hat, and gloves. When I left this morning, the real temperature was 3 degrees fahrenheit. I was toasty nonetheless.

Pears can just fuck right off. (kenan), Monday, 17 January 2005 15:23 (twenty-one years ago)

eight years pass...

this should be revived, in light of discussions on the daft punk thread. people should list both what they are wearing and what they are listening to and whether or not they think this is incongruous. they don't have to though. only post if you want to.

Treeship, Monday, 13 May 2013 22:51 (twelve years ago)

an ugly/psychedelic pink and black floral pink dress, and yes i'm listening to the new daft punk. not very congruous.
