Heading to these places late April to mid May, want to know what is happening.

Perhaps also a jaunt to Cologne to see Nurse With Wound early May, Faust in London on the 16th...

FAP? Could anyone give any suggestions about perhaps setting up some experimental music shows? Anything I *have* to check?

Thanks ILX.

Presumably performing experimental music, Slacker? What sort? There's a few places I can think of, and possibly a couple of contacts. Although I'm sure there are others here better placed to do so. (London this is) As for things to see, I never know what's happening until a about a week before, but if you update the thread a bit nearer the time, there might be a few things that have cropped up.

Cafe Oto in London is usually interesting for experimental/improv/avant/jazz stuff. Nice venue.

Yep, one of the places I was going to suggest. Wery nice venue. Wery nice beer.

Wow, that's quite an electic show lineup they have, some really interesting stuff going on. Looks like they're pretty popular and don't respond to unsolicited emails, but worth a try. Will have to check it out regardless.

The other thing I should probably ask is does anyone know any good places to stay?

Been looking at some hostels around Kensington for London...

Hmmm, maybe not in Kensington. Earl's Court tends to be a bit cheaper? It's where friends of mine have stayed before, without being eaten by rats or being left massively out of pocket.

Haha, Cafe Oto is exactly the first thing that came into my head too.

There's a pub called The Bird's Nest in Deptford that seems to regularly put on live music of various degrees of noise and tunelessness. I can't say I'd honestly recommend it as a venue though but they do seem to be willing to put some pretty experimental and abraisive stuff on.
