Don Novello's ' Blade - The Shellville High School Yearbook'

1984 yearbook by Novello wherein all the students are replaced with sheep.
Totally straightfaced, painfully dry, very very funny, apparently out of print.
Anybody got a copy?

There's a story and interior logic to the book that just kill me.

I'd never seen this before. This is amazing! Why are worthless SPIN back issues scanned into Google Books and not this?

Hm... could you perhaps be convinced to scan your copy in for posterity?

So what's the connection between this and the National Lampoon 1964 High School Yearbook parody that came out in the mid '70s (and is one of the funniest things I've ever read -- was when I was in high school, still is when my wife got me a reissued copy for Christmas last year -- and "internal logic" definitely hints at what it's getting at, too)?

Description of that one here: First released in 1974 and a two-million-plus bestseller...Welcome back, graduates of the 1964 class of C. Estes Kefauver High School in Dacron, Ohio! They’re all back in glorious black and white with color Magic Marker–Chuck U. Farley, Maria Teresa Spermatozoa, Purdy “Psycho” Lee Spackle, Faun Laurel Rosenberg, and, of course, Dacron’s most famous son, Larry Kroger. Learn everything there is to know about Kroger’s past before he became the pop-culture legend Pinto (Tom Hulce), the virgin fraternity pledge in National Lampoon’s Animal House.

Given Lampoon/Animal House/SNL connections (and that he apparently went to college in Dayton, Ohio), it'd be surprising if Novello wouldn't have known about it.

Well the Blade came out years later and I'm sure he was familiar with it and that there's things in common. This one is mostly comprised of sheep though.

I must've seen this book at some point in college humor-mag days... Novello's The Lazlo Letters also well worth tracking down. A nitwit writes aggressively solicitous mail to Nixon, Mayor Daley, Sammy Davis Jr etc, often gets replies.
