If those guys in D.C. are successful and we Brits take 'em back, I'd be quite happy and welcome them with open arms.

Provided they start drinking tea again instead of coffee (I mean, that is the reason we chucked 'em out in the first place...).

We're still stuck with the Chimp in the Oval Office. What's so great about it? Especially since we fought the Revolution so that we wouldn't be ruled by greedy morons whose only claim to power is that their Daddy used to be King.

Anyway, should be nice. Will visit friends, eat burgers and weenies, get drunk, and watch the Macy's fireworks show on the NJ side of the Hudson.

I love to visit the US, especially the South.

To mark Independence Day, in Brussels it's "American Movie Day". Previews of the following are on offer: High Crimes, The 51st State, Killing Me Softly, Changing Lanes, Arac Attack, The Sum Of All Fears, Murder by Numbers, Insomnia, Resident Evil.

Any of these worth rushing to see?

I actually felt kind of. . . not exactly patriotic, but I had a good feeling about being with my fellow Americans ("My fellow Americans. . .") last night. I was out dancing at a Latin club in Philadelphia last night (a few blocks from Independence Hall, in fact) and it felt more like a party than just a club night. It was a very mixed crowd and everyone was dancing with everyone else. Nearly everyone dancing was sweating profusely, and everyone was taking it easy and getting down at the same time.
