wtf is that face that Claire Danes does when she cries in movies!? breaking my heart is what it is

that bit in little women where she's holding the sick baby and she starts to cry is so upsetting to me. wish she was in more movies, is polish wedding any good?

like all her emotions are crumbling

no screen shot, no jpg. are we supposed to conjure this image from memory? or are you going to make us watch little women?

her face gets all contorted and her lips sort of collapse

i am not watching or reading little women

i was talking about this with my friend barbara and she said "I hate claire danes, especially how she cries" and in reply i said "NO WAY srsly she is so beautiful and realistic when she cries" in the end barbara decided she liked her bc she obviously isnt vain if she keeps doing that face, and that its all about the performance (also how it hits you in the solar plexus!)

I saw stardust the other day and she doesn't do this in it ONCE.

and then right b4 her audition, they're like standing in the wings and rayanne does her angela imitation

claire danes has always been so precocious -- like the 1 thing that set her apart as an actress was her understanding of human emotion. but i just feel like she needs to expand on that a little.

i dont know, i dont really feel like i need her to be this craftsperson wheeling out accents or wowing me with comic timing (tho she is really sweet and funny in stardust) as long as she whacks me in the face with those tear ducts at some point before the credits roll i got what i paid for.
