so it looks like this, and i love it:

i have figured out that it is "notched back" (apparently, still don't know what that means) but i have no idea how to describe the cut of the arms and upper sides? we are furnishing our library (dont get too excited, not as fancy as that sounds) and i want stuff that looks like this but i am too dumb to know how to explain it to peeps that are furniture savvy. tbh, i would probably just buy this because i am kind of obsessed with how it looks and it is comfy, but k would like to examine more of a 2 chair option, and i dig wingbacks right up until is sit in them and get claustrophobic.

help plz

Well that is my vote, but k doesn't find it all that book reading curl up-able. Also she is the one w/disposible furniture money, because she makes the mad librarian money and I sell guitrars to meth-heads for plasma donation $$$

obv also if anyone has any suggestions that seem similar i would appreciate them. again, comfy, probably not leather, not a bagazillion dollars, not hueg, not overstuffed, not going to turn into a pile of sawdust and screws the minute i turn my back. budget is about $1K, and that has to allow 2 normal humans sitting space (loveseat shown is $700).

I want to say that's British Colonial style, but I'm not absolutely sure

http://www.bombaycompany.com/ - I don't know if they still have physical stores anywhere, but this place used to have a lot of stuff similar to the above

thx milo, british colonial seems pretty close! only thing is that most of that stuff has a full exposed wood frame, which is prob a little too formal, but who knows - also finding something that i can actually go to and sit in before buying is key, have been burned on cool looking furniture that becomes a cruel torture device when you actually try to use it for its function
