the lungless frog is turning into a worm (with the breathing through the skin)! how efficient! It looks like the most slime-y thing you could ever touch so naturally I want to touch it. And yeah, the orchid rules but it isn't really an animal :/

peacocks, Thursday, 22 April 2010 18:59 (fifteen years ago)

The orchid kind of isn't an animal, goole!

HI DERE, Thursday, 22 April 2010 19:00 (fifteen years ago)

HI DERE, Thursday, 22 April 2010 19:01 (fifteen years ago)

so sorry that that flower ate yr face

HI DERE, Thursday, 22 April 2010 19:17 (fifteen years ago)

i understand the exclusion of the orchid from the list because the rest of these are all marsupials, but i really would like to nail this down

HOT DISH THYME MACHINE (jjjusten), Thursday, 22 April 2010 19:17 (fifteen years ago)

orchid is the type of animal most commonly know as a "flower, which is totally not an animal, also fuck you very much for the nightmares of giant marsupial stick insects I will be having tonight"

HI DERE, Thursday, 22 April 2010 19:19 (fifteen years ago)

they carry their tiny stick young in a pouch in their stomach, often hundreds of them at a time, did you know that?

HOT DISH THYME MACHINE (jjjusten), Thursday, 22 April 2010 19:21 (fifteen years ago)

its fun to learn

HOT DISH THYME MACHINE (jjjusten), Thursday, 22 April 2010 19:21 (fifteen years ago)

Stick insect FTW

Elvis Telecom, Thursday, 22 April 2010 19:26 (fifteen years ago)

Was torn between the flame snake, the lungless frog and the hairy ant, and in the end voted for the frog: something about its eyes, flat head and hands (+ the lunglessness).

many say that the sound of the hundreds of tiny stick babies suckling at their mothers many teats is like the rustling of the wind through the trees

HOT DISH THYME MACHINE (jjjusten), Thursday, 22 April 2010 19:33 (fifteen years ago)

― HI DERE, Thursday, April 22, 2010 7:31 PM (3 minutes ago)

nice one silly! everyone knows that giant stick insects only mate within the bodies of their hosts. so unless you have a porthole in your stomach, i doubt youve ever seen them do what you so childishly call humping.

HOT DISH THYME MACHINE (jjjusten), Thursday, 22 April 2010 19:36 (fifteen years ago)

like literally, I am hating you with the fury of a thousand naked F4rr4hs

textbook blows on the head (dowd), Thursday, 22 April 2010 21:53 (fifteen years ago)

voting for the ant because it's challenging my long-held assumption that insect bodies are divided into three segments, a head thorax and abdomen.

dyªº (dyao), Friday, 23 April 2010 00:31 (fifteen years ago)

also really hate this narrative of saving rainforests because of the potential for 'finding cures '; okay if you really find a cure for cancer in the rainforests you're just going to cause everybody on this planet to live longer which is going to add more stress to the planet which is going to lead to more destruction of the rainforest. also what if this miraculous cure can't be synthesized in the lab, that means a lot of people are going to go spearfishing after your poor lungless frog. I do recognize that it's a tactic to make rainforest conservation more attractive to the average person but rainforests should be saved because THEY'RE SOME FUCKING AWESOME ANIMALS IN THEM and not because they have the potential to extend the stranglehold humans have on this world.
