This because the celebrity fans of both is impressive.

Phineas and Ferb is liked by Ben Stiller, Chaka Khan and Bob Eubanks of the Newlywed Game(The Old One)

Spongebob has David Hasselhoff and a few others I can't name.

Which do you perfer.

Phineas and Ferb is annoying as hell. Spongebob can be, but often isn't.

Tough tough call but I think nowadays I slightly prefer Phineas and Ferb. Mainly for Isabella saying "What'cha doooooo-in?"

P&F - it's really funny (though inconsistant), while I never really "got" Spongebob. I love some of the songs too!

tell me of this "phineas and ferb" of which you speak.

Wrongly being overlooked here is The Mighty B! Amy Poehler as a cartoon FTW!

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 2 May 2010 11:51 (fifteen years ago)

mighty b. is v. funny, it's true.

the episode where the evil, prissy girl's pet dog is exposed as a rat is precious.

the wiki entry makes me very skeptical of this phineas and ferb.

spongebob, however, is a classic.

I like Phineas & Ferb a lot. The songs are great. Perry the Platypus. The friendship between Bufford the Bully and Baljeet is just sweet. I haven't been able to watch Phineas & Ferb since my kid discovered Spongebob, and it bums me out.

Spongebob annoys the hell out of me. I hate the way he gets those big eyes and cries when he's upset. I hate when he repeats something over and over for comic effect. The gross-out humor (like ripping Patrick's tits off in the Earth Day episode) makes me flinch, cringe, double over.

On the other hand, I think every aspect of the show that doesn't fall under one of those categories is pretty fucking classic. Spongebob gets on the level of Looney Toons sometimes.

i like the gross out stuff, TBH. the episode where the splinter pierces his finger and keeps going, and going, and going, further into the skin, was mind-boggling, as was the "flea in the dome" episode.

Daniel, Esq., Sunday, 2 May 2010 12:35 (fifteen years ago)

it reminds me of a kid-friendly ren & stimpy, and that's all-right by me.

Ya know Phineas and Ferb was actually conceived in 1990 and it took 16 years to pitch it.

one year passes...

So Phineas and Ferb are taking over the world now, it seems:

I'm not surprised that P&F did a Star Wars special; I'm surprised that it has production numbers

you are upsetting spongebob by comparing him to that phineas and ferb show.
