However, the Headline and subtitle told you it all.
The story seemed to be that a white couple have IVF treatment but a mistake in process leads to wrong embryos being implanted. The couple start bringing up the black twins but the originally intended recipients of the embryos sue for custody.
It's just the perfect middle-england hysteria story. Paul Dacre must have creamed his knickers when he saw it. It's got everything a good Mail story has in one tidy bunch:
- IVF as scientific folly messing with 'nature' - Bungling health-service professionals - White male fear of black child (she's been shagging a black man) - A twist! They'd been good whites and kept it between themselves and yet still they were black! (Oh no! Cruel mistress of fate!) - The black parents want them back! (Typical! Always taking what belongs to good whitefolks!)
Golly. There must have been a few disgusted people commuting to work this morning.

Isn't this about the third baby mix-up in the last couple of weeks? One mother was given the wrong baby to breast feed, another buried the wrong baby and now a woman gave birth to the wrong baby! Blimey!

Still I can't help but feeling that maybe a judgement of Solomon might work better here since there are two babies... And before you say its an inhumane thing to do, that is pretty much the plot of The Parent Trap.
