loved this place when I lived in europe and am so happy that these israelis are invading america. right now it's philadelphia, dc, jersey, berkeley, boca raton + a billion in manhattan. LA/SF are inevitable - but will this make it as a national chain?

we eat there once a week cause we're poor and 5 dollars for an all-you-can-eat salad bar is the best deal around.

GOD I LOVE MAOZ FALAFEL SOOOO MUCH!!

I used to go to the ones in Philly now and then when I did more hanging out in Philly, but they just opened one like 4 blocks from my house in NJ and it was very, very exciting. Except it's really expensive ($4.95 for a falafel alone, $1.50 for a can of soda, and $8.75 for a meal with falafel, fries and soda) but it's definitely worth it for the occasional treat.

Also, sweet potato fries!!!!

God now I want them so bad.

it's not expensive at allll if you just buy the falafel without a drink and hit the salad bar 5 times

I ban myself from Maoz after a drinking session, the refill option leads me to gluttonous behaviour. Still, it about the only vegetarian place my non-vege friends are interested in.

can anyone explain why they picked philly as the first american branch? does philly have some falafel-love I didn't know about?

Trying to remember if this was the chain I checked out in Amsterdam back in 2005...probably.
