Trig Brother II: DETAILS HERE

The Day: Saturday, 13 July

The Time: 2 PM, setting off at 2.30 PM

The Location: We'll be meeting at 2 at the GLASSHOUSE STORES on Brewer Street, which will also be the home base pub and hence where the game will END. In other words except for a period between about 2.30 and 3.30 PM there will always be somebody at the Glasshouse if you feel like popping in. The other pubs will be a surprise.

If you want to PLAY, sign up below - first come first served. When we've got ten contestants other contestants will be reserves, like horrible Tim on the real BB, and will get to play if contestants don't turn up on time, or have to leave halfway through, or get disqualified (this is pretty unlikely).

If you don't want to play you can turn up anyway and spectate - you'll get the chance to play Trig Brother Psychologist, and also to vote on the final evictions. It's likely to be an all-dayer.

Tom, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm up for it.

RickyT, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I will play! *crosses finger for sunny day*

Sarah, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ahem! *crosses the other finger for a lovely gentle breeze as well*

Sarah, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

A brief summary of the rules: contestants (and 'Davina') visit a total of five pubs. In each pub two 'evictions' take place - two at once in the first, then separately in other pubs. Evictions are based on the votes of the other contestants. When each pub is left, evictees go back to the 'home pub' (the Glasshouse Stores, this year) and the remaining contestants go on to the next pub. Spectators can go wherever they want.

Before each eviction a 'task' is performed. The first task is for each contestant to think of an ILE-style question for contestants to answer. The remaining tasks involve answering these questions. The results of the tasks may influence nominations, but then so may anything else.

At the last but one pub the two evictees, 'Davina' and any remaining spectators walk to the 'home pub' and the remaining contestants have a final drink before following. The remaining contestants are then put to a 'public' vote to determine the winner of the GREBT PRIZE.

And I'll say again that if you've never met any of us or don't really contribute to the board that will be no barrier to taking part - Martin missed winning it by one vote last year despite hardly ever posting here.

Also drinking alcohol is not compulsory at any point (Dr C take note).

''If you don't want to play you can turn up anyway and spectate - you'll get the chance to play Trig Brother Psychologist, and also to vote on the final evictions. It's likely to be an all-dayer.''

I'll see what kind of tasks there will be but I'll prob spectate (might play psychologist, will have to watch BB the day i get back to england).

How do you get to brewer street (what tube station is nearest?).

Julio Desouza, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm up

mark s, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

In my current state even going inside a pub would be unthinkable.

Dr. C, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey last year we didn't know the first question was going to be the ILE format question, THIS YEARS PEOPLE HAF AN UNFAIR ADVANTAGE! Ok it is just the equivalent to BB2 contestants haffing watched it the year before, okay! I will get my THINKING CAP on for a good un!

Sarah, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Heh heh also NEW PUBS NEW RULES be warned!

Tom, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Julio Desouza, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm here to improve on my third place last year with no Minestrone errors. However I may wear Emma's shoes which will mean me out in first round....

Pete, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Will the group be split into a rich half and a poor half where the poor people have to stand and drink water, and the rich half can sit and drink champagne?

davel, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Can you make the start bit longer if people don't show up on time, or at least post the name of the second pub (or leave it with the bar staff or something)

Graham, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I will post the name of the 2nd pub but we've not finalised it. If you dont turn up on time and 10 other people do you can't play!

Tom, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'll be there, but not sure in what context yet!

jel --, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'll come as long as I don't get evicted in the first round like last time. :(

DG, Tuesday, 9 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm def up for this. i have my audition thread somewhere around here...

Alan Trewartha, Wednesday, 10 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm really up for coming along and spectating but I have stuff to do that evening. Bollox...

Matt DC, Wednesday, 10 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i may have to be a latecome spectator after all

mark s, Wednesday, 10 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

am I too late?

chris, Wednesday, 10 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

No you're not - we've now got between 7 and 10 depending on what some of the ppl above decide to do. And we have the wildcard late entrant sorted too (so there's 3 for the final tasks and votes).

Tom, Wednesday, 10 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

So keep volunteering people!

Tom, Wednesday, 10 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I may come, depending on state of hangover, as Friday looks like being a very big night out. (This means I would love to, but won't if I am still throwing up at the thought of booz

Anna, Wednesday, 10 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

You will all cower before my rediculous T-Shirt (if I have the guts to wear it outdoors).

Graham, Wednesday, 10 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes that's right Graham you shout all the time and nobody else can be heard ;)

Tom, Wednesday, 10 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'll probably end up being Sunita and wussing out :)

jel --, Wednesday, 10 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Just keeping this near the top of people's minds!

Tom, Thursday, 11 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Last year I had a lot of trouble visualising Tom as Davina. Maybe if he wore his sexy Smash Hits top?

I might play this time.

Graham, Thursday, 11 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I think it's worth noting that there's nothing in the rules to say that people have to drink alcohol as part of Trig Brother. In fact, the rules were drafted with a view to avoiding that kind of coercion. People should play! It's fun!

Tim, Thursday, 11 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i will def be there at some point but still not sure when

mark s, Thursday, 11 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm increasingly thinking I'll be there at the beginning and the end.

Tim, Thursday, 11 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah, I won't be drinking.

jel --, Thursday, 11 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Mark S = Tim, late entry into house.

(Not Tim Hokpins who = Tim Hopkins).

Pete, Thursday, 11 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

We've probably got a late entry in the form of Alix but she might get there from the start. Everyone who wants to play will get a chance I reckon.

Tom, Thursday, 11 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I cannot volunteer to play as I am looking at flats to buy on Saturday and don't know what time I will get there. I also suffer from depression and might have a breakdown if I was overwhelmingly voted out first, and now that I've said that it makes it impossible for me to play, which was the idea.

Martin Skidmore, Thursday, 11 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I would like to warn you lot in advance that I can't spend a lot of money so voting me out due to not participating in large rounds is not allowed!

Sarah, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Okay - we'll vote you out for not having much money instead. (If you are going to use this excuse you have to use the magic "I've not got much money" phrase - see Hopkins for further details).

Pete, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I will probably have spent all my money on CDs and comics before trig brother starts. It's why I don't go to the city much.

jel --, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh dear oh dear - my attendance may have to be WITHDRAWN now (waaaaaaaaaa). I will fiddle with finances and see what I can do...

Sarah, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Starry don't worry abt money - I can lend you enough for a couple of rounds. Otherwise we won't have enough people and it'll all be a huge cock-up.

Tom, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Also discussion of nominations is against the rules! You might get a 'strike' (precisely as effective as 'strikes' on the real BB i.e. not)

Tom, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

'Wooo'!

Spencer, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

(Cheers Tom!!!!)
