i've seen q a few caves with gate/grills over the front - one assumes they are to keep spelunkers out tho maybe they are also for trapping them inside. to get bitten by rabid rats with their hair caught in their rappel racks as they develop a fungal infection.

"Unwanted rappel shunt activation" sounds such a euphemism.
