God I forgot she was in the Ice Storm.

Trip Maker, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 16:30 (fifteen years ago)

she was pretty, uh, surprising in the gift

My favorite film on that list is The Ice Storm, but it has little to do with Holmes, who has a fairly minor role in it.

I will admit, though, that I've seen three of those films (Disturbing Behavior, The Gift, and Abandon) for no other reason than because she was in them. (I'd like to think I would've seen Pieces of April, anyway.)

I've only seen 5 of these, but I'm just gonna assume none of the others are as good as Go

xp My first thought was Go, which probably says a lot about my age.

wonder boys!

mizzell, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 16:47 (fifteen years ago)

The Ice Storm's the best but I forgot she was in it so Wonder Boys, in which she's just right in a key role.

^Exactly. Experienced hippy girl, furry vest or something.

Trip Maker, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 16:52 (fifteen years ago)

'Go' is good and she's good in 'The Ice Storm' but I have a soft spot for 'Pieces of April'.

She should make an Asylum pic w/ Terrence Howard, cheekily celebrating the fact that they both got booted from major action franchises for being dud sidekick/love interests.

TH was far from a dud in Iron Man! I think he played chicken in contract negotiations and lost.

Nhex, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 17:05 (fifteen years ago)

I did not know that - no disrepect to TH. Whoop that trick!

I'll rep in expectation of The Extra Man, great Jonathan Ames novel!
As much as she failed to make the most of it, the real problem with her role in Batman was "OH SHIT HOW DID A GIRL GET IN OUR MAN MOVIE?"

Well, because whatever happened changed him. (Dr. Superman), Sunday, 13 June 2010 23:07 (fifteen years ago)

^ truth. I really liked Phone Booth, but not because of her, so going to have to go with Go by default.

Don't remember her (or much) in Muppets from Space.
