There is a really beautiful rainbow outside, it looks like it is coming out of a chimney, and an aeroplane just flew through it.

I'm gonna take a photo.

What natural phenomena make you feel glad?

As mentioned elsewhere, waves breaking over Gull rock just outside Boscastle harbour, preferably at sunset.

A gurgling stream snaking through a lush verdant meadow. The soothing sound of water flowing over pebbles and stones takes my breath away in it's simplistic beauty.

thunderstorms. white clouds on a sunny day under a spot on the road near my house that make the world seem very round. raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens....

I did say she was hardly fat, but there's no need to be ridiculous.

I suppose grass is alright.

but I guess it's not a phenomena, so it doesn't count.

I don't get to see natural phenomena very often, so they're all very nice.

I like mist over lakes in the early morning though.

On my train today, there was a woman who kept nodding off in the golden afternoon sun. She was holding a blue cylindrical glass vase of very pretty red carnations, blue asters and white daisies. Each time she fell asleep, she relaxed her grip on the vase just enough so that it would slightly tip, thus awakening her temporarily. As her nodding off became more and intense, the vase would tip over at greater and greater angles, until she finally spilled some water from the top of it onto her khakis just before she got to her station. She appeared to be so happy with the flowers and it being a warm Friday afternoon that she displayed no sign of minding.

Grunion runs.

Actually, the day after my father died I was at a mall in Connecticut shopping for clothes for the funeral and a double rainbow suddenly appeared over the trees in the distance. My sister and I just stood there watching it by the car till it disappeared, it was so beautiful. So that really made me feel glad. And,God, I wish we'd get a thunderstorm here in LA, it's miserable out.

I would imagine probably when someone horrible and detrimental to other people dies, of say spontaneous combustion or being struck by lightening.
