These have mostly been stinkers, so I've done the easy bit for you. Apologies to those with happy memories of Germany's 1-0 triumph over Bolivia in '94.

Argentina by a rizla but both deeply satisfying

Same for me I think - it was an unimaginable shock, Maradona coming out juggling the ball on his shoulder and all, plus the red card is still comedy of the highest order. France seems kind of inevitable somehow, which is ludicrous considering how good that team was.

2002 WC never happened as far as I'm concerned :'( I'll thus vote for the other game even though I've never seen it.

What about 2010, is that happening for you?

Belated write-in for Tom Boyd's comedy o.g. in 1998

Yeah, we actually thought we could do it for about 10 seconds before we went "hang on, we're playing Brazil and they're really good and we've got Darren Jackson up front" and totally shiting it. I was insanely drunk.

xpost: I'm still waiting to see if 2010 is going to happen or not. It would definitely help if Anelka and Ribéry were taken off, that's for sure.

one month passes...

What I learned tonight: the unknown third member of the trinity, Argentina's 1-0 defeat to Belgium in 1982, was never aired on British television because of the ongoing Falklands conflict. The start of the world cup and no-one showed it! I bet the bbc were kicking themselves when Argentina went and lost.
