No, most of these shows are vile! I started this cuz a friend at a BBQ today wondered if anyone remembered "that PI show with the two guys after `Magnum P.I.'"

oh, i don't disagree. most were vile. but they hold nostalgic appeal for me.

the a-team, for example, was wretched, but i smile when i see clips of it.

For example, "Kate and Allie"! People watched this! Someone also mentioned "Scarecrow and Mrs King," which vaguely tugs at my memory banks too.

God, I used to watch Kate and Allie all the time, but I imagine it was terrible.

Dallas ftw.

The decade is weird: seventies holdovers, "Dallas" and "Dynasty" spinoffs that revel in the new excess, lots of private investigator dramas and comedies, and, starting in the middle, the big glossy NBC and ABC sitcoms with which we grew up ("Who's the Boss," "Growing Pains," "The Cosby Show").

if i get home a bit drunk in the middle of the night and either a-team or magnum p.i is on it usually makes me a little happier to be honest

Although I haven't quite made it up to the '83/'84 era yet, I love the few seasons I've seen of Dallas way more than I ever expected to.

SNEEZED GOING DOWN STEPS, PAIN WHEN PUTTING SOCKS ON (Deric W. Haircare), Wednesday, 23 June 2010 18:54 (fourteen years ago)
