New York FAP this Friday June 25

Because why not?

Revived another thread but didn't hear much and I know some people have been asking so -- I am wrapping up a two week vacation at various spots out East and will be in NYC again for a couple of days here. I am not out to overly plan much, I'm just looking for a good spot to tell people to show up for drink and chat and maybe a bit of food! Anytime from midafternoon on is fine and I'd be more than up for someplace also showing the final World Cup group matches that afternoon.

Suggestions ideas etc welcomed. Also, to the people contacting me through webmail please remember that if you don't include your address in the message itself I can't write back...

Not yet! I will be around Central Park for lunch and after that it's pretty open.

Though I have discovered a place called Stout NYC near Penn Station which I will be at briefly today that's showing World Cup games, which would be over at 4:30 or so tomorrow. Not saying we should stay there but I might go there after lunch to both be in town and then to head wherever needed via the subway or whatever.

I'll be near Astor Place in the afternoon tomorrow and will be free from around 3.

Ned, I was already planning on going to Cloisters tomorrow. Any chance you wanna drop by and check it out? (If you haven't been before it's a really awesome museum, and if you have... it's still pretty awesome.)

Yup!

Enjoy Stout! Kind of on the mega-pub side but not a bad bar. Have watched a few games there plus had Scottish-themed activities that needed large spaces. Gets a lot of the Penn Sta clientele, ie yuppies who live in NJ ;) but they make a mean burger iirc.

Sorry I'm not avail for socializing at the mo! Another time.

I would absolutely meet a Ned Raggett but I have to fly my flag at a close friend's book signing/reading in Williamsburg tonight. Will keep my eye out for the next chance!
