Two small roles, one starring, one somewhere in between, and one I'm not sure. She gets the “Aunt Jemima treatment” in Stripes, practically invents smirking teenage “whatever” in Carrieand Halloween, and has the only recorded sex fantasy involving Joey Ramone ever committed to film in Rock ‘n’ Roll High School. Vote for the performance, not the film; hopefully Rock ‘n’ Roll High School won’t be an automatic vote based on the size of the role. I’m voting for Carrie myself, even though I love her madly in Halloween, Rock 'n' Roll High School, and Stripes. (I’ve includedPrivate Benjamin, which I haven’t seen--no idea how large her role is. I omitted Breaking Away, on the basis that I have seen it and have no recollection of her whatsoever--she can’t have much more than a scene.)

the Joey Ramone sex fantasy is so great I kinda gotta vote for that, even tho the film as a whole is obviously inferior to the De Palma and Carpenter flicks.

whatever happened to her...?

According to IMDB, she's been working relatively steadily through the '90s and '00s: Mil Mascaras vs. the Aztec Mummy, Love in the Age of Fishsticks, Pee Stains and Other Disasters, prestige projects like that. She was (quite literally) the voice of God in Love in the Age of Fishsticks.

Should have called this thread something else then...

her character in R'n'R HS is pretty annoying but I voted for it anyways because it's basically the best movie ever. Like I don't want to get into a whole film dork debate about this but:

even tho the film as a whole is obviously inferior to the De Palma and Carpenter flicks.

nuh uh. I'm not saying it's better, just saying it's not "obviously inferior"

congratulations (n/a), Thursday, 15 July 2010 18:02 (fifteen years ago)

how about "more sloppily assembled and performed"

Major Lolzer (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 15 July 2010 18:04 (fifteen years ago)

May not be a fair comparison, but the fact that there is no Carrie Forever starring Corey Feldman might tip the scales.

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

Casting a not-fully-informed vote for Rock N Roll High School (though I probably like Carrie at least as much, as a whole.)

Halloween all the way.

ANd not just because of the boobies, although that didn't hurt.

Great Local H cover. I took in "Lovey Dovey" to play on the radio yesterday--I used to play it fairly regularly--but, because out station's being closely monitored by the CRTC right now for things like language, I self-censored myself and put it aside after double-checking the lyrics.
