Eggs, Peaches, Ice Cream, Spinach

You're goin down, fondue. Peaches don't stand a chance, but I genuinely like them better than fries.

I wish I could find a screenshot of the guy from the Egg Council in the Simpsons, the big egg with legs. The Egg Council got to me, anyway! I will be shocked if fondue wins this round.

Eggs, French Fries, Ice Cream, Spinach

Falkor Johnson (askance johnson), Thursday, 29 July 2010 03:18 (fifteen years ago)

Eggs, French Fries, Ice Cream, Lamb

(And actually couldn't care less about ice cream, tbh. Unless it was hot dogs.)

xhuxk, Thursday, 29 July 2010 03:20 (fifteen years ago)

we have no more burritos so we're going to need paletas and those are ice cream

I respect a hot dog vote more than I like to admit, the pleasure of the hot dog is profound, especially the kraut dog...but

butter pecan
peanut butter and chocolate
mint chocolate chip
pistachio
coffee
fudge ripple

just barely even getting started just with ice cream & if you let gelato in & mochi then business gets extremely funky in a hurry. it is true - a hot dog, say at Pink's, that's an actual meal, something ice cream will never be. but ice cream's wide variety trumps the hot dog's substantiality. besides all which, it's really easy to make your own ice cream with just a jar, some ice and salt and a coffee can and a few basic ingredients & a buddy with whom to kick the ice-packed can back and forth across a hall with for a while, and the results will be showstopping. if you make your own hot dogs from scratch, you aren't going to want to eat them.

gross rainbow of haerosmith (underrated aerosmith albums I have loved), Thursday, 29 July 2010 04:48 (fifteen years ago)

haha berries and peaches won huh

this has to be the worst bracket of all time btw - eggs vs fondue? who tf likes either of things, that they wld be among the top 64 foods? i know that h8ing eggs (and i really, really h8 eggs) is on me but fondue? that is a retarded option, and you are retarded if you vote for it.

otherwise: peaches/ice cream/lamb

TEEN LESBIAN (Lamp), Thursday, 29 July 2010 04:53 (fifteen years ago)

I didn't read the earlier bracket where fondue beat tofu but a lot of people get their hate on about tofu and may have been voting more against tofu than for fondue

which, it's true, is nothing new

gross rainbow of haerosmith (underrated aerosmith albums I have loved), Thursday, 29 July 2010 05:07 (fifteen years ago)

Don't care/fries/ice cream/spinach

Chaim Poutine (NickB), Thursday, 29 July 2010 05:25 (fifteen years ago)

i guess that makes sense. but still. (xp)

fwiw i feel p bad about not voting for spinach bcuz i generally like vegetables quite a bit and theyre kinda underrepresented itp but i love lamb, the most, of all meats. also i like that it looks like my user name, mostly.

TEEN LESBIAN (Lamp), Thursday, 29 July 2010 05:26 (fifteen years ago)

Fondue, Peaches, Ice Cream, Lamb

as I said on the other thread I hate eggs more than I hate Satan (when cooked on their own, damnit, not as a component in foods where I can't detect it; yes I love flan & realize this is sorta inconsistent but I contain multitudes (of food))

peaches over fries on a whim, really: I get great peaches more than great fries & they're a helluva lot easier than great fries. & the good peaches can be frozen & used year round so it's as fleeting a pleasure as it seems.

hot dogs suck & ice cream is great!

I will be voting against spinach for beating savory pies & anyway lamb is fabulous.

Euler, Thursday, 29 July 2010 07:06 (fifteen years ago)

flashing drill + penis fan (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 29 July 2010 07:07 (fifteen years ago)

I hate eaten a lot of spinach in the last year but nearly all of it has been in FUCKING SAVORY PIES so this vote is like voting for just pizza sauce or something like that.

Euler, Thursday, 29 July 2010 07:07 (fifteen years ago)

what does spinach have to do with pizza sauce?

sarahel, Thursday, 29 July 2010 07:08 (fifteen years ago)

I don't want to be a smart ass this morning so I'll speak truthfully: I just meant spinach is a single component of a great dish, just like pizza sauce.

Euler, Thursday, 29 July 2010 07:10 (fifteen years ago)

the savory pies live on by voting for spinach, don't you see - it's like in that movie Ghost with Patrick Swayze, and he's really dead, but he lives on in the heart of his beloved - just like savory pies

sarahel, Thursday, 29 July 2010 07:11 (fifteen years ago)

there are several Indian & Pakistanti spinach preparations where it's the central (sometimes the only, besides flavoring) ingredient, and they are main-attraction dishes all

also I make a spinach soup that is just the ultimate business

vote spinach no matter what it did to your friends imo

gross rainbow of haerosmith (underrated aerosmith albums I have loved), Thursday, 29 July 2010 07:12 (fifteen years ago)

she vajazzled....and forgot! (acoleuthic), Thursday, 29 July 2010 09:09 (fifteen years ago)

damnit i've been lied to.

Romanesco broccoli, or Roman cauliflower, is an edible flower of the species Brassica oleracea, and a variant form of cauliflower.

The cultivars of B. oleracea are grouped by developmental form into seven major cultivar groups, of which the Acephala Group remains most like the natural Wild Cabbage in appearance:

* Brassica oleracea Acephala Group - kale and collard greens
* Brassica oleracea Alboglabra Group- Chinese broccoli
* Brassica oleracea Botrytis Group - cauliflower, Romanesco broccoli and broccoflower
* Brassica oleracea Capitata Group - cabbage
* Brassica oleracea Gemmifera Group - brussels sprouts
* Brassica oleracea Gongylodes Group - kohlrabi
* Brassica oleracea Italica Group - broccoli

Eggs, French Fries, Hot Dogs, Spinach

Fondue is great fun, tastes great, but eggs are too much of a neccessity to lose. L makes beautiful omelettes, I make a mean scrambled egg. Then of course all the stuff eggs are part of ( ham and egg pie! I had to get that in somewhere)

Fries INCLUDE CHIPS. I made the case for them, and Hot Dogs last time.

Spinach vs Lamb... Fucking hell this is really challenging. Two words swing it in Spinach's favour... Saag Paneer.

sometimes all it takes is a healthy dose of continental indiepop (tomofthenest), Thursday, 29 July 2010 09:24 (fifteen years ago)

^^^ OTM. saag paneer ppl. among a billion other good reasons to vote spinach.

fuckin fries. still. get over it.

a CRASBO is a "criminally related" ASBO (contenderizer), Thursday, 29 July 2010 09:32 (fifteen years ago)

but lamb. lamb! lamb is the best meat imo.

ledge, Thursday, 29 July 2010 09:33 (fifteen years ago)

Eggs, French Fries, Hot Dogs, Spinach is a pretty nice complete meal imo.

This is the weakest bracket by a mile imo - Fondue in the second round while SOFT CHEESES are out is a pretty horrific affront.
