Hopefully I didn't miss anything too terribly important. I used a randomizer to determine the matchups, but feel free to complain about the really hard ones anyway! :D

Good Times vs. Murphy Brown
Designing Women vs. Night Court
Family Matters vs. Friends
Saved by the Bell vs. The Honeymooners

URKEL! URKEL! URKEL!

Guernsey Shore (King Boy Pato), Tuesday, 10 August 2010 10:52 (fifteen years ago)

Did I miss the noms thread for this as I can see several sitcoms which would get my vote ahead of these selections i.e. Bilko, I dream of Jeannie, Cheers, Roseanne, Barney Miller, Golden Girls, Scrubs, Big Bang Theory etc

State Attorney Foxhart Cubycheck (Billy Dods), Tuesday, 10 August 2010 10:59 (fifteen years ago)

Okay, I haven't heard of any of the first four. And only vaguely know the names of Family Matters and The Honeymooners, without having anything other than those titles to give an indication as to their content.

emil.y, Tuesday, 10 August 2010 11:02 (fifteen years ago)

Also, Billy, I can spot Golden Girls and the Big Bang Theory in the large list straight away. There may be others you've suggested on their way in other rounds.

emil.y, Tuesday, 10 August 2010 11:04 (fifteen years ago)

There wasn't a nominations thread. I just went with things from the '70s thru the present (with a few earlier exceptions) that had long, popular runs (or short, posthumously popular runs).

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 10 August 2010 11:06 (fifteen years ago)

^^^^^ on bilko and cheers anyway.

xpostssss.

a hoy hoy, Tuesday, 10 August 2010 11:08 (fifteen years ago)

Cheers in in there. Bilko isn't, sorry.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 10 August 2010 11:10 (fifteen years ago)

Cheers is in there, rather.

um these threads are fun and all but do we really want/need three separate tournament polls running at the same time

people are for loving (HI DERE), Tuesday, 10 August 2010 13:28 (fifteen years ago)

I thought the food one was drawing to a close. What's the third?

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 10 August 2010 13:32 (fifteen years ago)

o i c: ILX DRINK Fight Nomination/ Question Thread

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 10 August 2010 13:35 (fifteen years ago)

There's also a top-selling musical artist one on ILM

also the metal poll countdowns are still going on

people are for loving (HI DERE), Tuesday, 10 August 2010 13:35 (fifteen years ago)

hi dere otm

w/ the first one I made it smaller than 64 + only posted one thread at a time cause I didn't want to flood the site. I mean that very purpose = why I thought to do 4 polls in one thread.

one at a time from here is a good idea. there's only so many things that can be done anyway. maybe make a sign-up list like they do in the listening clubs.

iatee, Tuesday, 10 August 2010 14:46 (fifteen years ago)

I wasn't going to start the other half of the bracket until these were complete. Four at once isn't too overwhelming is it?

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 10 August 2010 14:54 (fifteen years ago)

I would maybe suggest 2 at once w/ 2 day poll deadlines

iatee, Tuesday, 10 August 2010 14:57 (fifteen years ago)

seinfeld will walk this tourney

Dad Can Dance (LOLK), Tuesday, 10 August 2010 15:08 (fifteen years ago)

enjoyed all these. least fave would be night court. by a mile. wait, i take it back, i WATCHED night court but very rarely enjoyed it. kinda hated everyone on the show. was really glad that ellen foley left cuz i like ellen foley. possibly the least funny cast in history. even selma diamond.

scott seward, Tuesday, 10 August 2010 15:15 (fifteen years ago)

With all of these polls, once I've decided, I like the moment of saying my votes to myself, like a mantra, so that I don't forget them before finding the correct poll option.

This morning's mantra:
Good Times, Night Court, Friends, The Honeymooners
Good Times, Night Court, Friends, The Honeymooners
Good Times, Night Court, Friends, The Honeymooners

Bag Smart, Street Stupid (Eazy), Tuesday, 10 August 2010 15:32 (fifteen years ago)

lose that mantra. we're restructuring, broadening the playing field, and restarting soon.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 10 August 2010 15:34 (fifteen years ago)

Ah, fuck.

Bag Smart, Street Stupid (Eazy), Tuesday, 10 August 2010 15:35 (fifteen years ago)

as JF says, this is being retooled; look for it to reappear later
