ITT, Willow Trees

There is something gently soothing about a willow tree.

Especially when it's by a body of moving water, and the light reflects off the water onto the silvery underside of the willow leaves.

Standard willow trees will be accepted, but weeping willows are prefered, in this thread.

I am hoping that this version of the failed link works.

(I realy dislike Flickr's new interface. But that has nothing to do with willow trees.)

Maybe if I'd done a 64-way regional deathmatch between varying species of trees this thread would have got more interest, huh? Probably not, mind you. And I've have got 20 people threatening to quit if maples didn't win.

We had a beautiful little weeping cherry tree in our yard at our last house. I miss it a lot. Not exactly a willow, but sorta.

What does a weeping cherry tree look like? That sounds curious.

I grew up in a house with about 4 or 5 willow trees all clustered around a pond. They are still, to me, one of the most beautiful and reassuring sights.

OK, not a willow, but utterly beautiful and certainly within the remit of this thread:

Ours was much smaller than that. The branches hung down to the ground more like a willow, so you could hide in it, if you felt like.

More like this:
