Wpuld be psyched to see "Robinson In Ruins" as I've been waiting for a newe Patrick Keiller film for 10 years +

I am curious to see what is showing in the experimental section. There's going to be some good work in there, I'm sure...

Henry's Hepcat (admrl), Monday, 16 August 2010 20:15 (fifteen years ago)

Would also see "Aurora"

Henry's Hepcat (admrl), Monday, 16 August 2010 20:16 (fifteen years ago)

Of all the people you mention above, only the prospect of Godard interests me, but really, ALL FESTIVALS LOOK THE SAME

Eyewona (admrl), Monday, 16 August 2010 20:20 (fifteen years ago)

All the "marquee" filmmakers anyway

Eyewona (admrl), Monday, 16 August 2010 20:21 (fifteen years ago)

I have to say, I really don't care for Kiarostami in particular

Eyewona (admrl), Monday, 16 August 2010 20:22 (fifteen years ago)

oh, Joe and Ruiz too, and Sicinski is high on The Robber

kind of shrill and very self-righteous (Dr Morbius), Monday, 16 August 2010 20:25 (fifteen years ago)

Ah, Sicinski - I like the cut of that guy's jib. Nice write-up of Ben Rivers in cinema scope last month.

Eyewona (admrl), Monday, 16 August 2010 20:33 (fifteen years ago)

Way more promising than the past few years, and fewer films that already have distro. And Keiller!

Film socialisme is screening elsewhere the 27th of this month.

C0L1N B..., Tuesday, 17 August 2010 04:32 (fifteen years ago)

Vanessa Redgrave is the new Paul Scofield in Robinson In Ruins. Some talk here: Patrick Keiller - c/d?

Eyewona (admrl), Tuesday, 17 August 2010 04:49 (fifteen years ago)

LE QUATTRO VOLTE is the hottest title fyi

christopher dullan (Tape Store), Thursday, 19 August 2010 01:33 (fifteen years ago)

Views. Pretty predictable, but lots of stuff I want to see.

C0L1N B..., Thursday, 19 August 2010 19:19 (fifteen years ago)

Huh it looks pretty interesting, I think. I know I always say this, but a few friends of mine are showing in Views, including one I had no idea about until I clicked on your link!

.. help? (admrl), Thursday, 19 August 2010 19:22 (fifteen years ago)

I'd be interested to see the new Michael Robinson and Deborah Stratman things.

.. help? (admrl), Thursday, 19 August 2010 19:27 (fifteen years ago)

Anyone in the last program, Adam?

I liked but didn't love the new Andersen. Not wild about most of the other stuff I have seen.

C0L1N B..., Thursday, 19 August 2010 19:28 (fifteen years ago)

I don't think I "get" Michael Robinson.

C0L1N B..., Thursday, 19 August 2010 19:29 (fifteen years ago)

"I liked but didn't love the new Andersen."

Hmmm, where did you see it, out of curiosity?

I know some folks in the last program but my friends are both in the 8:15 Saturday program. I really do think this looks good, but maybe it is very typical of this program? It's much more extensive than other experimental programs in major festivals.

.. help? (admrl), Thursday, 19 August 2010 19:37 (fifteen years ago)

It definitely looks like a good program! There just aren't many surprises. Mc3lh@tt3n definitely has strong preferences. And apparently friends.

I saw a screener of the Andersen for something I'm working on. Maybe it's better in the theater?

C0L1N B..., Thursday, 19 August 2010 19:47 (fifteen years ago)

And yeah, it's definitely better than some festivals, but Views kind of feels entirely separate from the rest of the NYFF. The crowds are definitely different.

C0L1N B..., Thursday, 19 August 2010 19:48 (fifteen years ago)

I just emailed you through ILX, I hope it worked!

.. help? (admrl), Thursday, 19 August 2010 19:52 (fifteen years ago)

It did! But I'm not sure that my response went through.

C0L1N B..., Thursday, 19 August 2010 20:05 (fifteen years ago)

I don't think it did. My email is just 4d4mrl at the google mail thing. And with A instead of 4 of course.

.. help? (admrl), Thursday, 19 August 2010 20:15 (fifteen years ago)

oh man, really want to see the Ceaucescu movie, from the VIDEOGRAMS OF A REVOLUTION dude...

Also the Diop short (Atlantiques) and Ruhr.

FOREIGN PARTS is beautiful.

christopher dullan (Tape Store), Saturday, 21 August 2010 07:58 (fifteen years ago)

kind of shrill and very self-righteous (Dr Morbius), Saturday, 21 August 2010 14:50 (fifteen years ago)

It's ok. I'm sure it will play again. WIsh I could be there too!

TACOS, NM (admrl), Saturday, 21 August 2010 15:20 (fifteen years ago)

kind of shrill and very self-righteous (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 1 September 2010 19:23 (fifteen years ago)

Guess I was mistaken on the Godard. But come on, someone will release it. (It's really good, btw, and definitely worth seeing on the Alice Tully screen).

C0L1N B..., Wednesday, 1 September 2010 19:34 (fifteen years ago)

four weeks pass...

Film Socialisme looked amazing, and I was fine with the usual quotient of bafflement.
