I heard "Mony Mony" in the car today and almost instinctively started yelling the "C'mon everybody get laid, get fucked!" response that people used to shout at school dances when I realized that it's really pretty strange. The internet tells me that in some areas the response was "Hey Motherfuckers get laid, get fucked!".
I suspect that this is somewhat of a regional thing and that many people will have no idea what I'm talking about. Is that the case? If not, what was the response where you grew up?

Wait - where are you from? That's what I am trying to figure out here. I grew up in NY and KF is from Michigan so at least I know it's not some weird NY/Long Island thing but I'm curious as to where else it happened.

Also - you didn't have Jr. High/High School dances?

Just playing with you folks. I'm a Britisher, and if I was playing fair I'd have said so.
I'm not even sure what our equivalent of 'Junior High' would be, and as for dances... I seem to remember a disco of some kind one Christmas, but I'm not even sure I didn't dream that.

Heard it (early 90s, college, New England) as just "Hey, get laid, get fucked"
― Guayaquil (eephus!), Monday, 20 October 2014 04:18 (eleven years ago)
i've never heard this in my life.
― akm, Monday, 20 October 2014 20:22 (eleven years ago)
I'm solipsistic enough to state that because I've never heard this, it has never happened, and you are all delusional
― akm, Monday, 20 October 2014 20:23 (eleven years ago)
No one has solved this mystery yet! Definitely not delusional -- heard it for the first time in 1987 (maybe '88?) at teen dance party in a community center.

Let me clarify that when I say "I heard it," I don't mean "I heard it one time," I mean "it was the customary and accepted thing to do when they played that song at a party during its period of popularity."

I had to youtube this just to figure out how this worked. Never heard it! But yeah its reminiscent of what we have in Aus with the Angels and the "no way, get fucked, fuck off" thing.

I've heard this, and you can also add "twice" after "fucked."
