Maybe I'm just more into sitcoms as an artform than other people? I thought this would go over big, even though half the board is british.

eh i feel like things will heat up as we get further in the rounds - i mean is anyone really excited about fucking sports night for instance? once the chaff gets weeded out i think itll get better. also, poll fatigue.

On one of these threads I said that Sports Night is my favorite sitcom ever. So consider me excited.

I have to admit, I'm looking forward to the Simpsons/Family Guy battle. Although, I'm pretty sure that among ilxors, Family Guy is like rotten eggs. Maybe if it were a battle in Entertainment Weekly, it would be closer.

I hate Family Guy, so whatever it goes against I vote for even if I loathe that too.

obv no offense was intended EZ, it just seems like the general ILX tone on sports night (and several others) is kind of "oh yes i recognize that that is a show"

No situation or bit of dialogue in any episode of Frasier has ever elicited a laugh from me. Voting for Cheers just as a vote for Dan Hedaya as Nick Tortelli.

None taken. I'm one of very few who has shown a preference for it in anyway, that's all.

I agree that bitching is easier than pimping, so the ripples from the sinking show will shake things up more than someone yelling huzzahs from the deck before it goes down.

will be genuinely saddened if cheers loses out this early, that show remains golden to me.

The humor on Cheers is what I can usually take or leave. The few times when it's actually poignant are what I remember most fondly (like when Diane leaves and Sam says after she walks out the door, "Have a good life." EXCELLENT!)

T7S vs. Good Times was really close. I honestly expected Good Times to survive, though. Norman Lear is taking a damn beating.

Have never even heard of Sports Night until now.

I adore Sports Night (still my favorite Sorkin), but it's kind of the redheaded stepchild in this tournament. OK, it's got a laugh track for the first half of season 1, but it's kind of not a comedy?

Jesus Christ, I can't think of a more unjustifiably self-satisfied show in TV history than That '70s Show.
