it says this is not a word! it understands "rub" however.

― Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 23 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Of course it understands rub. Its what Aladdin did to his lamp.

― Pete, Tuesday, 23 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i'm confused. if genies are the key to winning worrabout 2001 Arabian FITES eh, haven't they heard of that?

― Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 23 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

other classic tales include Fite of the Ancient Mariner, Twelfth Fite (actors looking quite beat-up at that point) and HENRY THE FITE. gollee these guys could just DO A LITTLE HOMEWORK and i could get on with beating my high score.

Wuthering FITES (seasonal version): If on a Winter's FITE a Traveler vs. A Midsummer FITE's Dream

It wouldn't allow WANK!

― jel --, Tuesday, 23 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I hate it when wanks aren't allowed. So frustrating!

I cadged this from Sarah and I've gotten extremely super-competitive with myself over it (i.e. I am bored) -- high score = 21,990

― Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 23 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

it wouldn't allow befist (and of course the word I needed was befits!) my mind is not up to this today!

― jel --, Tuesday, 23 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

it's up to something else

― Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 23 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Of course it understands rub. Its what Aladdin did to his lamp.

Tis the safer meaning of the word, anyway;> (Of course, that could be just my dirty mind talking, so...)

I hadn't seen this game before. I just had a go and scored 25,270 at my first attempt! Hooray! Another way to waste my life!

― Martin Skidmore, Tuesday, 23 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I got to about 9000 points.

― jel --, Tuesday, 23 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

IT WON'T LOAD FOR ME GRRRRRRR.

― Dan Perry, Tuesday, 23 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

31,000+ yay (second go, first go I didn't even get the first 6-letter word). eww, when you play this game too long, ILX type face looks REALLY SMALL afterwards

― Jeff W, Wednesday, 24 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I made exactly 49,000 last night and was very annoyed at not making 50k, which is a bad sign I think.

― Martin Skidmore, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

it's the 3-letter words i don't get that annoy me the most. THANK YOU SARAH for RUINING OUR LIVES.

― Tracer Hand, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

What a terribly addictive game... My highest was 14,500 after an hour of playing.

― Vinnie, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm getting the hang of this - I just scored 63,050. It's a bit like playing Scrabble, except that you are guaranteed to be able to use all of your letters and you don't have to wait for the other players and there is none of that "Look, just put something down, fercrissakes!" stuff.

― Martin Skidmore, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Hehe, just got 64k. I'm getting better at spotting the six-letter word off the bat.

― Vinnie, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

this thread is like snake vs snake 2 for ppl over the age of nine

― mark s, Thursday, 25 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

My new best: 87,170, after several frustratingly stalled in the low 60k area. I am playing this too much, as if I needed something else useless to do.

― Martin Skidmore, Sunday, 28 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

me and my dad got upwards of 140 000

― mitch lastnamewithheld, Sunday, 28 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm inclined to think two could do significantly better than one, yes. The game stops when that one time in many you can't get the six- letter word - to fail with a pair that one in many occasion would have to coincide for both players.

I just broke six figures: 102,380.

― Martin Skidmore, Sunday, 28 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i'm impressed with yr brains. i've only been able to get about 30k

― Ron, Tuesday, 30 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

My new best: 146,180.

― Martin Skidmore, Friday, 2 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Have you seen many repeats, Martin? It looks like you've played the game the most and I was surprised when I got the same exact letters twice after within two hours of playing.

― Vinnie, Friday, 2 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

thats a grate score! i finally managed to get about 60k, and it was actually a fun game because several times i didn't get the 6-letters until the last few seconds. drama

― Ron, Friday, 2 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

i have found myself thinking this way the past few days... thinking of words and letters much of the time. time to chill out

― Ron, Friday, 2 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I think I have played maybe thirty or forty games, or something like that. I have only had one repeat six-letter word, I think. I get very irritated at all the words it doesn't know, especially when I believe I have got the six and it tells me I'm wrong.
