^^
Me too, but I'd rather choose The Simpsons and M*A*S*H. The other two... yuck.

Seinfeld, Simpsons.

I just don't really enjoy Curb. I can see the brilliance in the writing and the performance, but that comedy-of-irritation grates on me after a while. Seinfeld has dated, no question, but still entertains (nb. it is not rerun on terrestrial TV over here and therefore not overexposed), and some of its grander flourishes (the season with the sitcom-within-the-sitcom and the episode where they take the limo of the neo-nazi leader in particular) are still as impressive today as they were when they aired.

I picked Seinfeld because I've never seen any Curb, but I imagine my vote would go the other way if I had.

yeah... i have similar reservations re: fawlty towers tbh - i can appreciate the brilliance, but i Just Can't Watch, at least not for pleasure.

has ilx ever had a TS: fawlty towers / the good life?

xp

There's still a round to go before the finals, but I suspect it's coming down to AD vs. Simpsons.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 2 September 2010 23:22 (fifteen years ago)

I was thinking it would be Cheers up against The Simpsons...I don't know. If it is Arrested Development, I'm going to take some solace that it'll feel like a stand-in for Larry Sanders--besides Jeffrey Tambor, it's the same creators, right?
