Any combination that doesn't involve Arrested Development will do for me but Cheers + Seinfeld it is

Cheers + Seinfeld. The Simpsons, at its very best, is probably smarter than Seinfeld, but I'll be honest and vote for the show I've watched more over the years. If Cheers manages to get past AD, I probably won't be honest for the final vote.

clemenza, Friday, 3 September 2010 20:45 (fourteen years ago)

how did Cheers get this far???

I mean, it's a great show, but wau, I didn't think it would get this far

If you trace back to what it had to beat, the only really tough one was The Bob Newhart Show.

clemenza, Friday, 3 September 2010 21:02 (fourteen years ago)

Arrested Development, Seinfeld

5+ years ago I would have voted for the Simpsons, but I've come to realize that Seinfeld is even more rewatchable than the simpsons and despite being very 90s somehow manages to hold up very well

Cheers & The Simpsons without a moments hesitation. The other two are at their best not funny and more often than not egregiously horrible.

EZ Snappin, Friday, 3 September 2010 22:10 (fourteen years ago)

You're kind of in the minority on Seinfeld...Which is fine; I could pick out a number of popular shows from the original 64 where I feel exactly the same.

clemenza, Friday, 3 September 2010 22:22 (fourteen years ago)

I think I have watched perhaps 5 whole episodes of Seinfeld and hated them all. Cheers and SImpsons FTW.

Shock and Awe High School (Phil D.), Friday, 3 September 2010 22:29 (fourteen years ago)

Hey, so when The Simpsons wins, will I, as Matt Groening's cousin, receive any royalties, awards, or similar recompense?

Excellent.

Simpsons vs. Curb Your Enthusiasm would be hard. Simpsons vs. Curb Your Enthusiasm's dimmer older brother is easy.

Hahah the anti-AD rears its ugly head.

Leee, Saturday, 4 September 2010 18:51 (fourteen years ago)

Is head-rearing really any different than child-rearing, other than the lack of a torso, arms and legs?

Aimless, Saturday, 4 September 2010 19:04 (fourteen years ago)

AD making the final four, eight, 16, et al is a travesty.

Fuck Cheers. If the finale turns out to be Cheers vs. Seinfeld I'm not going to bother to vote.

So, AD vs. The Simpsons it is.

true answer

k¸ (darraghmac), Monday, 6 September 2010 23:13 (fourteen years ago)

One by one, our old friends are gone. Death--natural or not--prison, deported. The Simpsons and Arrested Development are the only ones left--because they always made money for their partners. (I stole this joke. And because I've put the curse on about 12 shows so far, I'm not saying who I'm rooting for. Even though the outcome would seem inevitable.)

clemenza, Monday, 6 September 2010 23:25 (fourteen years ago)

Yay, death to Seinfeld!
