On their own - toast. For versatility - milk.

Matt DC, Wednesday, 8 September 2010 16:10 (fifteen years ago)

Milk... bleuuurghh... foul muck. Toast walks it.

peter in montreal, Wednesday, 8 September 2010 16:16 (fifteen years ago)

Toast is a bit dull unless partnered by melted cheese.

rhythm fixated member (chap), Wednesday, 8 September 2010 16:18 (fifteen years ago)

Actually thinking about it, I would much rather give up toast-based products than dairy-based products.

Actually my brother drinks a minimum of a gallon of full cream milk every day and has done since I can remember. Back in 2005 he was on his way from Australia to Arkansas to attend my wedding when he was pulled to the side by airport security when trying to get to his connecting planes gate at LAX. The airport security guy was running the wand thing over his legs repeatedly and each time it would beep. "Do you have an artificial leg or any metal in your legs, sir?" "No" but still the wand beeped and beeped. The security guys had a little conference. WHen he came back he asked "Sir, do you drink a lot of milk?" "Um. Yes?" "Well thats what it is. You can go put your shoes on now, Milk boy."

pom /via/ chi (nakhchivan), Friday, 13 March 2015 20:58 (eleven years ago)

not out of planning but out of tiredness and laziness but if the bread isn't dry to begin with then it is often surprisingly edible when it is straight out of the toaster

pom /via/ chi (nakhchivan), Friday, 13 March 2015 20:59 (eleven years ago)

toast boy

vacuum head tree disease (imago), Friday, 13 March 2015 21:52 (eleven years ago)

Buttered toast with a streak of mustard is a perfect accompaniment to a soft boiled egg, obv cut into strips or "soldiers" if you want to be infantile, but once you try that there is no way back.

xelab, Friday, 13 March 2015 22:22 (eleven years ago)

ya, need to start doing that of a morning

what bread was your plain toast nakho

normcore as fuck, most importantly unlike most normcore bread it is a 'half loaf' (400g) so the slice are just the right size

lasts for ages in the fridge so god know what voodoo they used instead of artifical preservatives

pom /via/ chi (nakhchivan), Friday, 13 March 2015 22:39 (eleven years ago)

don't put your bread in the fridge man

Number None, Friday, 13 March 2015 23:13 (eleven years ago)

cheap sliced bread for toasting lasts longer in the fridge with no appreciable difference in quality but thanks for the cool lifehack

pom /via/ chi (nakhchivan), Friday, 13 March 2015 23:22 (eleven years ago)

alright fuck off then

Number None, Friday, 13 March 2015 23:24 (eleven years ago)

as a street person you should be used to people ignoring your unsolicited lifehacks

pom /via/ chi (nakhchivan), Friday, 13 March 2015 23:26 (eleven years ago)

if and when you get a fridge my lifehack is that all bread, especially artisanal breads, should be kept there at all times

pom /via/ chi (nakhchivan), Friday, 13 March 2015 23:27 (eleven years ago)

I have no idea what that's supposed to mean

but what else is new

Number None, Friday, 13 March 2015 23:28 (eleven years ago)

i was always told you freeze breads, never refrigerate. someone is out there dispensing bogus life hacks!
