Sponsored exclusively by Syfy, the film will play as the second part of a double feature with the U.S. premiere of Machete Maidens Unleashed!, a documentary about Philippine exploitation films from the 70′s and 80′s directed by Mark Hartley (Not Quite Hollywood), which features Roger Corman prominently.

not quite hollywood is really entertaining and made we want to see loads of ozploitation flicks aside from the obv biggies (mad max, razorback), so im hoping machete maidens is as gd and inspiring

-machete maidens was fuckin great if maybe 10 mins too long
-i liked that it presented the opposing viewpoints of "these were liberating subversive movies" vs. john lassater's "i don't buy that post hoc 'these movies were subversive' bullshit," and it was lol that corman kinda shrugged and was like "of course it was about money, but i think we got to do some subversive things no one else was doing in the process"
-coppola & apocalypse now ruined everything for everyone
-i really need to see whatever that movie was that featured a dwarf 007
-pam grier is never not hot
-if u r into this kind of cinema u should see this it is v lol

at one point julie corman said "i don't know if you guys realize, but the SyFy executives have a hand in almost any science fiction related entertainment you see these days"

ps elvis mitchell showed up and compared roger corman to motown and gave him a GIANT SWORD as a lifetime achievement award

'No! Not like THIS' is pretty classic. Don't really go in for the winking B-movie thing but works well with a beer on a Saturday night.
