Executive Producer Steven Spielberg came up with the idea of the little boy on the Big Wheel going by in Kale's neighborhood.

To prepare for his role, Shia LaBeouf spoke with many former house arrest detainees, which is where the idea for the Twinkie Tower came from.

In the scene when Ronnie visits Kale at his home for the first time, director D.J. Caruso decided to add in the can of macadamia nuts at the last minute.

Ronnie's line "My dad likes this song, by the way", referring to "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine" by Lou Rawls, was added in post-production.

I think macadamia nuts wins if we're going for amusing dullness, and twinkie tower wins if we're going for interesting.

These remind me of the fake IMDB entries that Something Awful used to do. One I remember clearly is:

Frankie Muniz has responded to Shia LaBeouf's recent criticism about the former "Malcolm in the Middle" star over Twitter, the New York Daily News reported.

Appearing on Atlanta's "The Bert Show," LaBeouf was asked about his box-office success.

"While that's flattering as hell, you could have put Frankie Muniz into any of the movies I've been in and those movies still would've still been No. 1," replied LaBeouf, currently onscreen in "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps."

LaBeouf also took another shot at Muniz, who hasn't been onscreen since 2008's "Extreme Movie," when asked if he was concerned about running into Muniz at a social event.

"I don't go to many parties ... and I really don't hang out in Frankie Muniz-type zones," LaBeouf replied.

In response, Muniz tweeted: "Dear Shia Labeouf. It's getting creepy the fact that you can't stop talking about me. It's been 12 years now. I don't know you. Thanks."

As the Daily News points out, it's not the first time LaBeouf has dissed Muniz. In 2003, he talked to Entertainment Weekly about how the media liked to compare the two.

"I used to see him at premieres and stuff and it would always be like he was looking down on me," he said. "And then it turned into we're equal, and then it turned into 'Oh Frankie? I know that guy.' "

this movie was pretty enthralling for like the first 2/3rds, then completely went off the rails in terms of OTT ridiculousness and wasn't even believable at the end. not to mention chica falling for Shia Lebouf's creepy behavior=completely phony.
