suggestions for good pool venues welcome. pub with a decent, classic table (green felt, red and yellow balls)?

last night was at big red, which had 4 tables (a bonus) and sabbath on the jukebox, but our table was too close to drinkers and the cues were a bit crap.

the elbow rooms in shoreditch has pretty fantastic tables and is good value on a sunday, 5 quid an hour or something i think. it's a bit deficient in any sort of soul or heart but i always enjoy playing pool there. we'd want to go elsewhere to watch any footie tho.

i'm totally open to other suggestions too btw.

I'd be happy with elbow room if others are (american pool tables meh, but that's ok) - £5 an hour is v good value as we'd probably get through games fairly quickly.

and it'd encourage me to actually pot balls rather than playing scummy pool like steve davis play snooker.

I do that too, haha. I can do this Sunday but Sunday after I could stay longer, Ryder cup is on this weekend. But obv whatever days suit everyone are fine with me...

much prefer paying by time rather than per game so no objection to the elbow rooms.

I off away for three weeks from next Thursday so can only really do this weekend. As I am prob the only person foolish enough to accept any ridiculous bet proffered by Ken it's really in his interest that I attend. ;)

HELLO! I still very keen for an hour or so of pool and then watching the arsenal locally. Even though it's logistically trickier would prefer the elbow rooms for the pool, then somewhere else for the football.

sorry folks! the roast took a bit longer than i thought (3 hours! but then bottomless bloody mary too..) the front room at the water poet was so crowded i went off to the garden to watch instead in the end.

we should arrange a proper game though, without the football craziness. the tables at water poet actually looked alright...

yeah maybe a redux with better organisation? nice to meet everyone, sorry i disappeared from water poet, went to hail a taxi for a friend then me and my other friend just physically had to eat something so........NANDOS

Is the Goth Bowling a regular thing or was that just the Thurston Moore one? That's still the only ATP festival I've been to.

I suspect it will be twee bowling, but dayglo bowling to Jesus Built My Hotrod = WIN! Except me, I lost.

It was Bela Lugosi's Dead that stuck with me. I've never been able to go bowling since.
