General venting of hatred and bile etc. If the recount goes wrong and we end up with total GOP domination in my state govt i reserve the right to just post incoherent noises of rage in here.

so:

MN has a considerably lower unemployment rate than the national average
voter turnout was 58%

which removes the 2 excuses i was hoping for. this is honestly really disconcerting.

this is also a good thread for talking about Feingold and the three Iowa judges that got pwned last night as well.

Populist outrage in Ohio produces a Republican governor who worked at Lehman Brothers for 7 years, until it collapsed.

I was shocked to find that only 11% of people under 30 voted. I was part of that 11%.

what's the Iowa judge thing?

elephant rob, Wednesday, 3 November 2010 17:34 (fourteen years ago)

Iowa apparently has the appointment of Supreme Court judges, but the electorate can vote whether to retain them or not every three years (I think). The gay marriage ruling from last year was unanimous. Three of them were up for retention vote this year. Some "pro-family" groups sank a lot of dough into the anti-retention camp, and they got booted.
