Grand Island, NY

Buffalo, Tonawanda, Niagra Falls … on the map they look congested as hell.

So why doesn't everyone move to Grand Island? It's got plenty of space!

You can get 2000+ SF for less than $200,000. The school's are respectable, you're midway between Canada and Buffalo, there's a golf course, and you'll only have 18,000 neighbors in a town that's just slightly smaller than Manhattan in landsize.

I'd be tempted to say that it's Buffalo's Staten Island, but that would be assuming that Buffalo is comparable to New York City. But it was good enough for Grover Cleveland!

I used to drive to Canada every other week, through Buffalo. When I got tired of crossing at Ft. Erie and wanted a more scenic route, I'd take I-190 across Grand Island and cross at Niagara Falls.
