I still do not have a job and am starting to get a little worried. I'm feeling a bit down at the moment so would be very happy if anyone could email me and talk to me.

my contract with the NHS ended last week (it was a fixed contract) and no more NHS work has come up. I do not want to work in the NHS any more anyway, it was destroying me. what I want to do is write about music professionally. Friends here and elsewhere want me to be published but have warned me that it's not a good time to be going into the market. so I will still need a day job of some kind, even if it's only temping.

The problem is that I have spent a lot of this week trying to register with agencies and they are not interested because of my having spent 17 years in the NHS - it's a real turn off.

so I feel as though I'm stuck at the moment. trying to stay "positive" but finding it very difficult.

re the employment thing... I have no very helpful advice. maybe the public service generally might be somewhere you could look for work, though that could be just the NHS writ large.
