I need something new besides How To Draw 1,001 Wacky Cartoon Faces. Just kidding, I don't really own that book. But I think I need to get better an technique and I don't really want to take art classes, nor am I able to. Any advice?

I had How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way when I was a child, but it didn't make me particularly good at drawing.

I got one out the library called The Complete Cartooning Course, which I thought was rad and would very much like to own rather than borrow. It seemed fairly in depth, but good fun to read. Lets you know about drawing materials, computer colouring techniques etc.

Whole buncha free PDFs of old-skool how to draw books by Andrew Loomis. I learned a decent and quick head/face construction technique from one of them.

Guy who I go to life drawing with has an extremely well thumbed copy of this:

http://www.amazon.com/Foundation-Course-Drawing-Programme-Techniques/dp/0572028814/ref=sr_1_40?ie=UTF8&qid=1291731794&sr=8-40

it has actual programmes of lessons for you to do. if you want something a bit more informal and easier to dip in and out of then this would fit the bill:

http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Book-Drawing-Barrington-Barber/dp/1848375360/ref=sr_1_21?ie=UTF8&qid=1291731771&sr=8-21
