O_o-O_0-o_O (jjjusten), Wednesday, 8 December 2010 19:36 (fourteen years ago)

The Right Stuff or The Big Easy. I may be the only one who thought he overacted in Far From Heaven.

look at it, pwn3d, made u look at my peen/vadge (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 8 December 2010 19:36 (fourteen years ago)

Er... Inner Space maybe? Liked it when I was little anyway.

He did a good job as Clinton.

A brownish area with points (chap), Wednesday, 8 December 2010 19:37 (fourteen years ago)

"The Big Easy", I saw this again recently, I thought it was still very good. I haven't seen a lot of these films I must admit.

Pashmina, Wednesday, 8 December 2010 19:43 (fourteen years ago)

the right stuff

that movie owns, you watch it and it's just a string of these career-making or career-defining performances all over the place.

omar little, Wednesday, 8 December 2010 19:45 (fourteen years ago)

Dragonheart.

EZ Snappin, Wednesday, 8 December 2010 19:45 (fourteen years ago)

the right stuff is KILLER, but tbh i forgot he was in it

Princess TamTam, Wednesday, 8 December 2010 19:54 (fourteen years ago)

you know who's in that movie is lance henriksen in the role of one of the unimportant mercury 7

omar little, Wednesday, 8 December 2010 19:55 (fourteen years ago)

i'll watch anything with scott glenn or fred ward in it, but BOTH? bonertime.

Princess TamTam, Wednesday, 8 December 2010 19:57 (fourteen years ago)

awesome roles for the female side of the cast too imo

omar little, Wednesday, 8 December 2010 19:59 (fourteen years ago)

srsly? His SMILE deserved its own Best Supporting Actor nod.

look at it, pwn3d, made u look at my peen/vadge (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 8 December 2010 19:59 (fourteen years ago)

for some reason i feel like i've seen a disproportionately large number of recent Dennis Quaid movies...saw Legion, The Express and Vantage Point IN THE THEATER (was at least being paid to review The Express), also Pandorum, American Dreamz, Flight Of The Phoenix, In Good Company...i wonder if i actually like him or if he's just kind of blandly amiable, just like i wonder if you can actually quality his recent run as a 'comeback' or a 'career peak' or if he just hits casting directors' sweet spot of handsome/middle aged/fatherly/familiar/affordable.

lol @ you hulking out at Pandorum's imaginary fanbase. Quaid's character was probably the worst thing about it but i thought it was aight, tempted to vote for it over In Good Company.

Local Hardman (some dude), Wednesday, 8 December 2010 21:41 (fourteen years ago)

i dont even know what the hell pandorum is... i dont remember that movie coming out at all

i consider him really likable and ive always been fond of him for reasons i cant really articulate... warm and fatherly vibe with a lil bit of an ~*edge*~ i guess... i thought he was a pretty good doc holliday in Wyatt Earp, but he'll always be overshadowed by kilmer's holliday

Princess TamTam, Wednesday, 8 December 2010 21:46 (fourteen years ago)

best film where he has the lead, The Big Easy, also showcases his magnificent body quite well

kind of shrill and very self-righteous (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 8 December 2010 21:49 (fourteen years ago)

Kinda love his ridiculous Jerry Lee.

Trip Maker, Wednesday, 8 December 2010 21:50 (fourteen years ago)

Bastards of Young Dro, Wednesday, 8 December 2010 21:54 (fourteen years ago)

sincerely hope he's, uh, in character there

˙❤‿❤˙˙❤‿❤˙ (ENBB), Wednesday, 8 December 2010 21:56 (fourteen years ago)

Local Hardman (some dude), Wednesday, 8 December 2010 22:09 (fourteen years ago)

Morbs, remember our dream Brokeback: Dennis Quaid and Jeff Bridges in the late seventies?

look at it, pwn3d, made u look at my peen/vadge (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 8 December 2010 22:10 (fourteen years ago)

bridges? really?

Princess TamTam, Wednesday, 8 December 2010 22:14 (fourteen years ago)

Breaking Away. I still find that character memorable and moving.

He's a big part of the reason I have a soft spot for The Rookie (great family sports fantasy), In Good Company, Frequency (sort of Field of Dreams territory but), Something to Talk About, and Any Given Sunday. Should I rent Flesh and Bone again? Don't remember a thing. Great Balls of Fire! was a little cartoony. The Big Easy ages well, surprisingly. And he's definitely part of the beautiful chemistry of The Right Stuff.

Pete Scholtes, Thursday, 9 December 2010 00:37 (fourteen years ago)

voted breaking away but i feel kinda bad about picking the first movie on the list, because i actually like him and am generally glad when he's in something i'm watching. but i like that movie, and that character just seems kinda ur-dennis quaid. the high school jock who never made it to another level.

something of an astrological coup (tipsy mothra), Thursday, 9 December 2010 03:11 (fourteen years ago)

Breaking Away, all the way. What a great movie.

Vantage Point IN THE THEATER

That was a torturous experience. I kept wanting to fast forward the third/fourth/fifth/sixth times they replayed the story from a different pov, but I couldn't.

Whose giant hand is that in the Innerspace poster?

no offense, but 80% of the people in my theatre would sigh all dramatically every time they rewound and i thought they were all mouth-breathing idiots. that was the whole IDEA of the movie and while the execution wasn't exactly flawless it's not like you were actually seeing the same scene w/ no new revelations a bunch of times or anything.

some dude, Monday, 20 December 2010 00:19 (fourteen years ago)

I knew that was the idea, and I've seen it done well in other things, but I grew tired of it rather quickly in this case.

Lightning Is For Babies (Johnny Fever), Monday, 20 December 2010 16:43 (fourteen years ago)

surprised enemy mine didnt get more votes
