As of September 2nd I am Exeter University's new Assistant Audio Visual Librarian! Which means I work in a room full of records, CDs, films and slides! Class!

I'm rather pleased about this...

Ned Raggett, Friday, 2 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Fat Congrats Nick! And Exeter - What a place! I was there this week for the first time ever. The Timepiece - you know it already?

stevie mitch, Friday, 2 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I play football for Timepiece FC! The DJ is our aged brummie sweeper!

Nick Southall, Friday, 2 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

hope it all goes well on the new job.

Wah! I was in there on Wednesday night and was introduced to George (one of the owners, yeah?) He showed us round the place and gave us the whole (ancient) history. Lovely guy! Have you seen the hand- painted banners upstairs?? How cool are they? D'you know who did them? Ate at Brazz and also went to Coolings, JG's, and ended up in the Warehouse 80's night which was HILARIOUS. Thursday in Plymouth, Newquay, Redruth, and then drove back to Derbyshire without stopping once - dehydration rules!

Ace, I love Exeter, and hopefully should be living there inside the next two months. I dont know Timepiece that well, I just got roped into playing cos my brother plays for them, but he knows the owners and stuff, having basically lived there for ten years. Warehouse... Jesus, not been there since I was old enough to drink! and I'm 23 now! Brazz is nice, as is ASK on cathedral green. And the cavern... Wonderful...

Nick Southall, Friday, 2 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm deffo gonna go back to Exeter again at earliest opportunity. Even just to see the dancing in the Warehouse. 100 girls doing bunny impressions to Proclaimers songs - errr... why????!

Hope you have a great time there - and well done on getting that dream job!

Does anyone know where I can get hold of any Blissium?

Lynskey, Friday, 2 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yay, congratulations! Do they have lots of neat CDs and films to check out & bring home? Are the people there cool?

di, Saturday, 3 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ah, Tim Hopkins may envy you, especially if you go to all of Exeter City's home games. I nearly went to Exeter Uni myself ages ago (they offered good statistics options on the maths course, which appealed to me). Congrats on the job.

Martin Skidmore, Saturday, 3 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Well done, Nick. I might come down to see you :).

Robin Carmody, Saturday, 3 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Then again, perhaps Tim won't envy you.

seven years pass...

I got a promotion at work! No more easy menial tasks, now I have a meaningful job in a programme I love. And they're going to pay me 8k a year more to do it...so good.
