last meal

am i the only one that thinks it's kinda funny or odd that death row inmates still get a last meal before they die? i don't have an opinion on it either way really (altho it's probably the least we could do), but a prison going out of its way to cater to the whims of an inmate seems so... old fashioned? like, there's sort of a morality or honor in the whole thing feels like something that would've fallen by the wayside years ago? it seems like something that would only happen in movies. idk.

So if you were to be sentenced to death tomorrow, what would your last meal be? Don't fixate on the morbid aspect of it and say you'd probably be too nervous and just want a salad (unless you love salad). But you will cease to exist the next day, so health doesn't really have to be a factor. Also - you are allowed one "meal" i.e. a course. Not, oh I'll have fish and chips with an octopus salad and chocolate pudding for afters. You are allowed just one thing.

I think I'd have a breakfast baguette TBH.

I have changed my request to breakfast pizza. All the benefits of an English breakfast + pizza.

i think i would get like a load of food that was gross to me and overeat it so that i would be nauseous in the room and throw up all over the executioner or the warden or whoever, serve them right, also then my last moments would feel all desperate and out of it, would seem more fitting than all the measured procedural safeguards they oblige you to step through for the sake of their consciences
