Picking fights.

Inspired by a conversation with Anthony about Heathrow's potential extra runway: There are many bad things in the world. This we know. And it is given to people of conscience to pick out at least one fight from the vast morass of unpleasantness. But which fight? And why? Or why fight at all?

We fight what we care most about, I suppose, crossed with what most impacts us. I like to think that would never be runways at airports for me - that's one of those 'bringing down the property values' ones, for the most part. I couldn't just pick one thing, but then it's a long while since I've got seriously involved in any, to my unease.

Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough.

Fear Felicity! She took her bar exam and is out to administer the smackdown. ;-)

i fight the vegan fight because i believe that ultimately it is the best all-round one for animals and humans. it does piss me off however when people assume that i don't fight any "just human" fights and assume that i only care about the ickle fluffy animals when this is patently not the case, just cos i don't tell you all about it, mister. i fight because i think something is wrong and needs to be put right. gets a bit sodding tiring sometimes though. and sometimes/often i am bad at it. *shrugs* i dunno.

Keep it up, Katie. Personally I think we're all going to go vegetarian anyway in another hundred years by default; history will be on your side. :-)

b-b-but SOYA SOSSAGES!

katie, Tuesday, 6 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Stand down Raggett. Your pity is most unwelcome. My seconds will call for you at daybreak.

felicity, Tuesday, 6 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

*cries*
