Impossible for me to decide, but Shirley Jones' voice makes my cat howl like she's in heat, and Julie Andrews does nothing for her. So I'm going with Shirley Jones.

My abiding memory was her in the Partridge family singing a song about a whale, and having a fit of the giggles all the way through it.

Shirley Jones, by a considerable margin. Wholesome and a merkin, but looked as though she would probably go like a steam train. And she was in Carousel.
Julie Andrews, British with a bloody awful cut glass accent, and that typical 'butter wouldn't melt in her mouth or anywhere else either' (nod to Dorothy Parker) attitude.

But I love that attitude!

Each to his own. I'll keep to Shirl.

BIG VOTE for Julie Andrews because she's funny and friendly and I don't see her with that attitude at all. Plus, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLIDuu1XsRc&feature=related
