t-shirts vs. shirts

long sleeve shirts never seem to really fit, can be nerdy or too preppy, but t's are not for very occasion (especially winter) and are in the habit of shrinking or de-colour after a while.

still, I go for shirts, I like the standard shape/design, its beautiful...the buttons, the collar, everything. does this make me a nerd or prep?

The key to men's button front shirts is the pattern- there are lots of cute ones that don't scream banker or nerd. Just stay away from the blue shirt with white collar thing. ; )
And yeah, long sleeve shirts never fit my arms, either. I'm happy that 3/4 sleeves are in style- they tend to fit much better on the 3 or 4 occasions a year when I wear a button front shirt. Stretchy t-shirts + cardigans get me through 12 months of pretty balmy Seattle weather, but then I don't really have to dress up for work.

shirts trends: the diagonal striped ones I see everywhere nowadays, the cheap ones look as horrible as the 80s yuppie banker shirts.
