I do think it will probably do ok (it's pretty cheap! 40 bucks a year)

but the balance between keeping it paywalled vs. participating in the link sharing that's the currency of web news is gonna be tough

on Day 1 you've got this guy cataloging all the links that allow subscribers to facebook share/email link the stories, so you can read it all for free

this has a pretty good chance of surviving/making money btu so far a pretty bad chance of being a relevant journalistic operation from what i can tell

apple being such a big partner seems to point to it doing well. a free trial might be bundled with future iPads, like the app will already be on there when you buy it.

I had some discount subscription to this for a year (like some magical $20/year deal), ended up getting a new iPad halfway through, and never looked back. It was like USA Today for iPads.
