apptivate is great. you assign keyboard shortcuts to apps, files and folders. really simple and speeds up computer navigation on a laptop hugely imo.

Civ V is okay, but I hate that you can't stack units on a tile anymore and it slows to an absolute crawl at the end of the game (with a i7 iMac and graphics turned way down).

Had to buy Office 2011 on a disc in a shop this week, I'm like why am I buying this when there's a freaking app store.
TextWrangler is free and great for text editing but it's been out for yonks anyway. MiroVideoConverter is also free (and necessary since the iOS version of VLC was pulled by a dickhead) but I've not used it yet so

Weird. A quick Google search told me there was a 403 issue for a couple of days after it launched, but that it was resolved pretty quickly.
