The top 50 cities from Foreign Policy's Global Cities Index 2010: http://www.foreignpolicy.com/node/373401

So I'm not really interested in this index or its rankings, just thought this would be a good list to draw from and vote on which city you like the best.

Istanbul, for unbeatable Bosphorus awesomeness.

Aimless, Friday, 4 February 2011 18:43 (fourteen years ago)

i've lived in the top 3 u.s. cities and i'm gonna have to go with chicago for nostalgia and for general quality of life (i even "enjoy" the weather.) S.F. i like not quite as much, a little more than NYC, and a lot more than L.A.

omar little, Friday, 4 February 2011 18:46 (fourteen years ago)

LA isn't on this list lol

bien-pensant vibe (Shakey Mo Collier), Friday, 4 February 2011 18:48 (fourteen years ago)

sure it is!

omar little, Friday, 4 February 2011 18:48 (fourteen years ago)

I misread Stockholm as Stockton for a sec...

history mayne, Friday, 4 February 2011 19:32 (fourteen years ago)

I love NY and miss it a lot. It's great to visit but I wouldn't want to live in the city ever again at this point in my life. It's just too much in so many ways.

ENBB, Friday, 4 February 2011 20:19 (fourteen years ago)

emil.y, Saturday, 5 February 2011 06:29 (fourteen years ago)

ShariVari, Saturday, 5 February 2011 21:35 (fourteen years ago)

I have been to 17 of these and changed planes in 3 others.

Ismael Klata, Saturday, 5 February 2011 23:22 (fourteen years ago)

Political Unrest Stabilizes Society Yeah (Eisbaer), Sunday, 6 February 2011 01:27 (fourteen years ago)

i may be the only person who voted for Stockholm ... i really loved that city.

Political Unrest Stabilizes Society Yeah (Eisbaer), Sunday, 6 February 2011 01:37 (fourteen years ago)

Houston as much of a global city as Stockholm, tbf

ryan, Sunday, 6 February 2011 01:39 (fourteen years ago)

i think you're right -- maybe Houston is MORE of a global city (given its rather strategic location and all that). but it still seems odd to consider Houston a global city.

Political Unrest Stabilizes Society Yeah (Eisbaer), Sunday, 6 February 2011 01:59 (fourteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

System, Thursday, 10 February 2011 00:01 (fourteen years ago)

Incapable of clicking anything but London in this type of poll.

Inevitable stupid dubstep mix (chap), Thursday, 10 February 2011 01:32 (fourteen years ago)

first it smells like donuts, then it smells like don't ask (askance johnson), Friday, 11 February 2011 00:57 (fourteen years ago)

I lived there for a little while. It really isn't.

kate78, Friday, 11 February 2011 00:58 (fourteen years ago)

Inevitable stupid dubstep mix (chap), Friday, 11 February 2011 01:13 (fourteen years ago)

Rome is definitely high on my list of cities I was dreading going and ended up having a pretty great time. Only been once, for 8 days.

i love you but i have chosen snarkness (Steve Shasta), Friday, 11 February 2011 01:13 (fourteen years ago)

Dear Melbourne: where are you?

moley, Friday, 11 February 2011 01:19 (fourteen years ago)

Rome is no genoa.

Chicago is a global city?

À la recherche du temps Pardew (jim in glasgow), Friday, 11 February 2011 01:23 (fourteen years ago)

wtf were you thinking aimless

In refernce to istanbul? or singapore? or osaka? my vote was for istanbul, btw. I meant it about bosphorus awesomeness and those ferries!

Aimless, Friday, 11 February 2011 01:29 (fourteen years ago)

no it was in reference to icy's suggestion that ilx rome voters 'might just be really old'

iatee, Friday, 11 February 2011 01:32 (fourteen years ago)

old? yes. addled? no.

Aimless, Friday, 11 February 2011 01:35 (fourteen years ago)
