Okay, just so I have everything straightened out -- I know I've asked this before, but I want to make sure -- here are the mp3s I current have. Please correct me on titles and proper identifications and all, since I know I've mislabelled at least a couple of these, and if you're planning on getting something to me and haven't already, do so!

Chaki: "Boot Test"
Chupa: "Song to the Rainy," "Suzuki Piano Skool," "Whole Again"
Dan Perry: "Personet"
Dave Raposa: "Saturday Night"
Dominique Leone: "Catherine"
FatNick: "J-Dot-Dot"
Honda: "1-2-Escapist"
Mark Pytlik: "Slow Burn"
Nabisco: various demos (ya gotta pick one!)
Sundar: "Guitar Prism"

New 'the file is in the e-mail' answers.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 12 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

ned that 'boot test' mp3 was just a joke. my real song is in the can at my house. ill upload it tomorrow (im in SF right now).

chaki, Monday, 12 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

just listing mine as "Escapist" will be fine

Honda, Monday, 12 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Meanwhile, your drugs are kept in the computer.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 12 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

That's "S-A! T-U-R! D-A-Y! Night!" VERY important, those dashes and exclamation points (obviously).

Daver, Monday, 12 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Err err none of the demos, Ned! The final song is to be listed as "Dibs on the Wallflower" by Johnny Promqueen, and if your email account can accommodate I will send it by Wednesday. Chupa's tracks remind me, though, that I have another track I like equally well, so if you're opening up the extra space for multiple tracks I'd be glad to contribute another.

nabisco, Monday, 12 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Freak. I mean, ah, okay.

Nabiscer: I think it's still just one track per person, I just ended up with three. Jel is the man to talk to, though.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 13 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh yes, go ahead and send the track on Wednesday, yay.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 13 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Cor! We are really getting there! Thanks people! and thanks Ned!!!

jel --, Tuesday, 13 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Chupa-Cabras, Tuesday, 13 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Argh -- got that mp3, Nitsuh, but somehow it got deleted! :-( Can you resend? Sorry about that!

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 14 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Check again, sucka.

nabisco, Wednesday, 14 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I have done. Yay!

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 14 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

i think it would be a good idea to get someone to master the comp so its somewhat consistent in the volume/sound quality etc

chaki, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

nothin' that half an hour in front of Cool Edit won't fix...

electric sound of jim, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

yah but im sure we'd all prefer someone that had some experience sitting on cool edit for a half hour. just because you have the proggie doesnt mean you have a good ear.

chaki, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

If someone wants to volunteer to do that, then that'd be really cool!

This is the way I see it working at the moment:

1) When Ned has all the songs we are gonna get on MP3, he puts them all on a CD, and sends them to me. (Is this okay with you Ned? I mean I could send the songs I've got to you...)
2) I put the songs I've got through the post onto a CD and then store the songs on my computer, and once I get all the MP3's as well, I make a CD for the person who volunteers to do the mastering
3) Once the mastering is done, I either make copies or get a couple of hundred copies made (this depends totally on the cost of such a project, if it's less than £250 then I can finance it, and I'd need help with distributing the thing)
4) CD's are sent free of charge to all contributers. The rest are then sold or given away to anyone who wants a copy.

Are there any flaws in this plan?

jel --, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Yup, I can just burn them to a disc for you, not a problem...

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

related ilx music makers q: someone on ilx once posted a link to an mp3 they'd made using bits of 'dripsody' called testbed.mp3. i liked the beats and the breakdown at the end. if you're the maker and you're reading this, what software did ya use?

mitch lastnamewithheld, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Cool Ned! Hey, when are you off to New Zealand??

jel --, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

August 29...

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

when are you back? What I mean is, do you want to send the MP3 Cd before or after you get back?

jel --, Friday, 16 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

If you want to make a final deadline next Friday, say, that would give me enough time to easily burn a disc and get it out to ya...

Ned Raggett, Friday, 16 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

okay! we shall have a deadline of next friday for sending songs to Ned!!!! I shall post a thread on new ILX tomorrow! (though if Mitch or Jess or anyone has songs I can deal with that)

jel --, Friday, 16 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-two years ago)

So, yeah if you've got an MP3 to send to Ned then you've got til Friday. If you come up with a song within the next 3-4 weeks then e-mail me and we'll sort out a way to get it on the comp.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 19 August 2002 17:03 (twenty-two years ago)

BTW, the name of my music recording concern is Punch. That's Punch. All you A&R shysters, please make a note of this, and change your cocktail napkin contract offers accordingly. Thanks muchly. Keep on rockin'.

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 19 August 2002 17:13 (twenty-two years ago)

If I change my music-name to Judy will you put me right after Popshots?

nabisco (nabisco), Monday, 19 August 2002 17:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey, when does this drop?

felicity (felicity), Thursday, 29 August 2002 02:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I would say sometime towards the end of October. Jess, Mitch, anyone do you have songs you'd like to submit? Oh yeah, due to Ned's travelling please don't send him MP3's, contact me if you have anything to send in the next few weeks and we'll work something out.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 29 August 2002 05:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Let me echo that. ;-) Burned disc of mp3s in the mail to Jel as I type.
