A copy over for those of you who don't read ILM any more. Again, anyone who has a problem with me doing this is cordially welcome to lick my love pump. (Except of course the DG, who will probably just delete this thread if he objects.)

As some of you know, the Lollies are touring the UK next week. Strange Fruit DJ's (including Paul Strange, who has been known to post here occasionally) are going with us. (As are Bangs, The Gossip and Sarah Dougher, but they don't post here.)

I thought this might be a good excuse to have regional meet-ups for those posters who don't live in London or Oxford. Here is a list of venues and dates that we will be playing. If anyone can think of pubs or cafes near said venues, please feel free to post suggestions on this thread.

Monday - Tuesday 12-13th August - Ladyfest @ The Arches, Glasgow

Wednesday, 15th August - The Roadhouse, Manchester

Thursday, 16th August - The Casbah, Sheffield

Friday, 17th August - The Adelphi, Hull

Saturday, 18th August - Strange Fruit @ The Spitz, London

Monday, 20th August - The Portland Arms, Cambridge

Tuesday, 21st August - The Point, Oxford

Wednesday, 22nd August - The Komedia, Brighton

Thursday, 23rd August - Purr @ Moles, Bath

Hope to see you there! Don't be shy! Come and say hello. I am the fat blonde guitarist playing with the Lollies, and Paul will be the stressed out looking DJ with the bright red hair.

Kate you need to come to the colonies .

anthony, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Sheesh, we were just in The Colonies last year! But fear not, chances are, if this tour goes well, we'll be back in The Colonies in January 2002. Weex!

Kate the Saint, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Mike Hanle y, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Mike Hanle y, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

You know, you could mention it's a Strange Fruit Tour, organised by Strange Fruit! We're not just DJing: we're messing the whole thing up in every way imaginable! Don't mention the other bands or Ladyfest though... :)

Paul Strange, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Yeah, fine, Paul, next time I won't even mention the fact that you're going at all.

Come and see ME!!! Live on tour!!! MEEEE!!! Just MEEE!!! No promoters, no DJ's and certainly no other band members!!!

Kate the Saint, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Come and see Kate walking from venue to venue as Paul is in charge of the tour van and won't let her in it! :) We're going to be showing Muppet videos inside the van, you know, so I expect competition for seats to be fierce. Until everyone realises I'm a useless driver.

Actually, Kate, you might be on tour alone anyway if these bands don't hurry up and get *passports*!

Paul Strange, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Come and see Paul mauled by lesbians as Kate reveals the more salient details of their their sex life in the back of the tour van...

Kate the Saint, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'm sure there's nothing you could possibly say that would make any lesbian want to maul me! :)

Paul Strange, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Come and see Paul and Kate squabble and bicker the entire way to Glasgow and back...

Kate the Saint, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I think it's worth coming to discover what you need to do to be mauled by lesbians, frankly. I have lesbian friends who would kill for than information. And I daresay heterosexual male friends too!!! :)

Paul Strange, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I might come to the Brighton one, but it would mean hanging around til 6 am for the next train. You'd better be good.

Graham, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I didn't mean maul as in a pleasant, sexual sense, Paul. I meant as in, mother lionesses whose cubs are in danger maul...

Kate the Saint, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Ooh, I might be able to go on Saturday to the Spitz one seeing as my original plans for Saturday (going to Chessington World Of Adventures) have now been scuppered as some of my wussy friends fear going out Friday night followed by roller coasters early Saturday morning might not be a good idea.

I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that spinning round really fast was the best cure for a hangover.

I'm slightly scared of the Spitz though because the last two times I've been, the exact same people have been waiting at my bus stop on the way home. Suppose I could just go to another bus stop I guess.

jamesmichaelward, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I only object to advertising if it's someone who never posts and just appears and posts an ad, like that fellow a couple of weeks back. But anyway, yes I shall be at the Spitz on the 18th, with as many non-ILE friends as I can get to come.

DG, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Kate: You say that as if it will deter a heterosexual man from wanting the information. Mauling by women = classic.

Dan Perry, Wednesday, 8 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

You may find the lesbians protecting *me*, Kate! Lesbians seem to like me more than straight women, plus I'm supposedly a gay man for the duration of Ladyfest (very long story). And... I organised the tour for these lesbians, and am paying for all the expenses up front, so in all honesty they should be idolising me! :)

Paul Strange, Thursday, 9 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

You're really a megalomaniac, aren't you, Paul?

Kate the Saint, Thursday, 9 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

The world had better worry if I ever get into politics... Indie music will be compulsory, there'll be public hangings of Popstars' influenced bands, and press gangs getting people to coe to Strange Fruit. I'm even practising my maniacal laugh.

Paul Strange, Thursday, 9 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

is anyone going on the 18th (spitz)? i see DG has stated his intentions. meet up at a pub or something beforehand? anyone else?

gareth, Tuesday, 14 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

In an unsurprising development, I'll be there, though I'm not sure in what capacity. Someone (Suzy?) mentioned a curry beforehand which, given the proximity of Brick Lane, seems like a sterling idea.
