'L'Origine du Monde' was purchased by Jacques Lacan who hung it and covered it with a curtain - "What you were dreaming about, my analysand, was it...THIS!!!" I saw it a few years ago hanging at the Musee d'Orsay (permanently?) where it continues to frighten children.

I was surprised when I did a search for it that i didn't find a load of porn rip-offs of it. Was that what Anthony was comparing it with at the top of the thread I wonder?
