situation: to care or not to care?

earlier this year I went to the czech republic for four months and saw surrounding lands and had a lot of fun and learned some stuff. the purpose of the thing was for me to study there. I did but [helped by my going away] I haven't produced some unassociated-with-the-thing work that my course requires. if, in a week and a bit, I don't produce three essays, a report, a study and a design [as well as the main design from my being away] I will not progress to the next year of my studies.

this never looked too hopeful [even when I had almost two months to complete all that crap] and it looks sort of less hopeful now. worst case=I don't progress and spend next year working someplace, complete the bits I missed and get into the next year, uh, next year. that isn't so bad, I think. +I'm going to america early next month for almost a month. coming back to: I'm not sure what, but.

even though my course was long enough originally and I've made it an extra year longer...I shouldn't care, should I?

richard, don't worry about it--we know you're far wiser and more advanced than any of the fools in your year. this little hiccup'll just teach you that little bit of self-discipline you were lacking and you'll end up perfect! good luck with the rest ('though I doubt you truly need it).

one year passes...
REVIVE!

earlier this year my computer's hard drive broke (mechanically) and I lost three credits worth of design work (two of which had already been passed) and I was unable to have the work ready for the final review. I also lost a couple of assignments but was able to redo them in time for their deadlines. in the next semester I tried to redraw all of the lost work at the same time as completing a new design project and various other assignments. this was a mistake and I managed to do too little in both projects. then I went to the USA for a few days and came back (just before the final final termtime review) with a chest infection and cracked ribs. obviously I was unable to complete the little bit of work I had left to complete. I have submitted an appeal, so that some of my work may be considered first submissions and not have a lower mark as the maximum possible. if, in just under five weeks, I don't produce two essays, a study and two designs I will not progress to the next year of my studies.

this looked too hopeful and it looks sort of more hopeful now. best case=I progress and spend the next year working someplace (as part of my course), fill in log books and go into the next yeah, uh, next year. that isn't so bad, I think.

even though my course was long enough originally and I've made it more than an extra year longer...I don't care, do I?

the topic of this thread reminds me of a new wave song title.
